(Pouring a glass for herself and another for Jaijeet as they both laugh as loud as they possibly could)
Jai: Got a resolution, sista?
Avu: Absolutely! (Raising her glass) This year, I'm gonna go all out and live my life to the fullest! And more than that, I'm gonna finally try to get into a school club!
Jai: Great! This year, I'm gonna get myself a girlfriend! (Avu almost bursts out laughing but holds an encouraging smile)
(Both of them clink their glasses in the air)
Avu and Jai: To the new Year! (and they drink)
Yep! That's me! Avneet Kaur, 20 years and perhaps the most lively girl you'll find in all of Mumbai. This year is gonna be MY year! I'm gonna go back to that college and get into one of those clubs that's gonna take me to the very top of my popularity! Brace yourself students, your shining star is coming!

(Holding a rosary in his hands with a hundred flower necklaces (malas) on his neck as he chimes a prayer bell with his other hand. His mother sings away a bhajan which is supposed to wade away all the bad luck that any evil spirits could possibly bring. Abhishek also sits with them.)
Sid: Are we done mom?
Mother: DONE?! We will never be done! We must wade away all the spirits!
Sid: (mumbling) along with the spirits you're gonna wade away every person who ever even wants to talk to me. I'll be left friendless!
Mother: What was that?
Abhishek: (from the side) I think he said that he doesn't wanna pray!
Sid: (shut up brother!) No! I said nothing. I was just praying.
Mother: good boy. In this new year you will get very good marks, and even scholarship to university, you will get into the soccer team and then I will happily get you married to the most suitable girl ever!
Sid: (sarcastically) how fun.
Mother: Yes! I already have someone in mind!
Abhishek: Remember Priya?! You know, Priya from Bangalore?! She would be such a perfect wife for you! (trying to hold his laughter as Siddharth goes pale)
Sid: (Remembering Priya who he thought was his cousin) (just nods and starts planning to sun away from home)
And that's practically my entire life as Siddharth Nigam. I'm 20 and my mom still makes me pray for EVERYTHING! This year at college, I intend to do just one thing that may keep me sane- join the soccer team and make some new friends.
