...Momo?
The night was deep and she could barely see a thing, but somehow, Dahyun knew.
She froze in her seat. The van wasn't exactly moving fast, but for Dahyun, the world slowed down, narrowed to her perspective. She could recognize that head of hair from anywhere, even miles away. The way Momo's beautiful locks gracefully sit on her shoulders, as light as a feather.
....No. It can't be.
Dahyun was having a mental warfare. Her avid denial wasn't helping her too much. She couldn't fathom Momo, kissing another girl, no less. It can't be her. She wouldn't do that to me.
Looking back at the past couple of weeks, Dahyun knew she was just indulging Momo. They shared immense passion together, as buddies. It hit her a little too close to home, when she saw Momo across the street on that bench. But no, Dahyun kept on denying it. She just knew the older girl wouldn't do that to her.
Then it hit her.
What reason would she have not to date other people? They're not together.
Dahyun blurred out everything. Suddenly, the world was back in its own pace, and the van zoomed past that park. Her mind went blank. She forced the thoughts of Momo out of her head and turned to look ahead of her, without much care for anything else. You don't matter to her that way, Dahyun. She didn't bother blocking out the echoes in her head. In her core, maybe she knew it. It was just their little thing between friends, members. A way to relieve stress.
"Dahy...."
"un...?"
"Dah...yun!"
"DAHYUNNIE!"
Dahyun flinched and suddenly she could hear everything again so vividly. Sana was shaking her violently. "A-Ah? Eonnie! Stop!" Sana sighed and snapped her fingers in front of Dahyun's face. "Come on Dahyunnie~ The food is amazing in Japan, I'd hate for you to miss it!" Sana took Dahyun's hand before she even had a chance to protest. The younger girl gave off a small smile, trying to push thoughts of her away.
The both of them caught up to the rest of the members. The streets weren't as busy, but security was with them so they weren't too worried about getting swarmed by the crowd.
Once Dahyun and Sana caught up to pace with the other members, Jihyo immediately noticed Dahyun's presence. In this case, it was more like the lack of it.
"Stop worrying." Jihyo whispered softly, reassuring the troubled girl that she shouldn't have anything to worry about. "I can't help it." The older girl sighed and gave Dahyun a pat on the back for extra measure.
Their trip was enjoyable enough to make Dahyun forget about her bothersome thoughts for a while. Eventually, they all came back on the van to head back to their hotel.
Dahyun was pretty beat. She wasn't her usual cheerful self, but she didn't have much energy today to begin with. She was upset. With her.
She was drowsy on the car ride back home, so she resorted into her small naps. An escape from her lingering thoughts, if you will.

"Dahyun?"
Dahyun fluttered her eyes open, getting greeted by the ceiling of their hotel room. "Dahyun." A familiar voice called. It was a voice she oh-so dreaded to hear, a voice that could easily make her knees waver. It's amazing how she could both hate hearing it, but at the same time, get absorbed in it.
Dahyun kept staring into the ceiling. Her voice was tempting enough, she didn't want to burn a lit fire with seeing her face. "Momo." She called back.
"Heey~ Good morning!" The bed sank somewhere near Dahyun's waist. She wasn't on the edge, so there was enough space for another person to lay beside her. She was suddenly so aware of the geometry of everything, including Momo. In the back of her head, she wished for Momo to lay down and give her a hug to start her morning, but she keeps pushing them away, as if the thought of her embrace was a bad intrusive thought.
Her wishing was to no avail, though. A warm arm wrapped around Dahyun and snuggled closer. "I have to tell you about last night. Yui..." By the mention of the girl's name, Dahyun closed her eyes forcibly and repeatedly asked for it to stop.
"Dahyun. Are you awake? Are you listeni...."
"Dahyu.."
"Dahyun, wake up."
Much to her surprise, she was back in the van, and nobody else was in it. The door was open, and there was Jihyo, shaking her violently. "I've been trying to wake you up for God knows how many minutes, you seemed to be enjoying your dream!" The older girl chuckled, only getting a groan as a response from Dahyun.
Dahyun exited the vehicle, spacing out in the midst of walking back to the hotel. Why was she dreaming of her again? Why Yui? A thousand questions burst into her head, with not a single answer in sight. Unconsciously, Dahyun grabbed her hair as a reaction to the stress.
"Are you sure you're okay? Is it your time of the month?" The natural leader instincts kicked in. Dahyun always adored that maternal vibe. She always felt like she was taken care of. "Thanks, I'm fine, eonnie." To convince her, Dahyun pushed out her usual grin and scrunched her face cutely after.
"...Momo problems?" Jihyo wasn't looking at Dahyun when she asked this, but the younger girl knew that Jihyo had long noticed their tension. "...No? Why Momo?"
"I'm many things but I'm not stupid, Dahyun."
She really couldn't push the conviction, so Dahyun would have no choice but to tell Jihyo. A mental warfare played out into her mind. The silence only lasted for not more than 3 seconds, but it felt like a whole century in Dahyun's head.
"Later." Jihyo sighed, seeing how torn Dahyun was just from her face and furrowed eyebrows. "Thanks, eonnie." Jihyo had a way of knowing all the girls on a deeper, much personal level. "You don't get nearly enough credit for how much you take care of us, even if we're a headache to deal with sometimes. Thank you." Dahyun was glad she had Jihyo. The weight of her emotions was far from being light, atleast she had someone to shoulder it with.
"Wait, the elevator's about to close. Hurry up!" Jihyo jogged to the elevator. Seeing that they weren't gonna make it if somebody didn't stop the doors from closing, Dahyun sprinted to the elevator.
"Wait, Dahyun!" Jihyo shouted in concern, once she realized that the floors were newly polished.
It was just a tad too late, however. Dahyun looked down to see that the floor was extra shiny today. As her right foot landed, she nearly lost her balance. Luckily, she was able to put her left foot down before it was too late.
This caused her to slide straight along the floor, both feet to the ground, arms flailing in the air to keep her balance. "jiHyOooOO eOnnNIiEEEE!!!!!" Dahyun shouted in a quivering voice, a protest for help. "DahyUN!" Jihyo shouted back.
Dahyun looked straight to the elevator doors, to see a girl on her phone. When Dahyun screamed seconds ago, the girl looked up from her phone and was shocked to see Dahyun gliding across the hall, headed straight to her.
The girl pushed the elevator doors to stop it from closing, just in the nick of time before Dahyun crashed into her.
Before she knew it, Dahyun's vision blurred out, with a panging pain on her forehead to match.
