Today had already started off different with you waking up to Leo shouting to wake up. It seems that the higher up knights look after the lower-ranked ones while the headmaster deals with more important matters. You got out of bed and stretched. The beds weren't very comfortable so your body was aching just from sleeping alone.
Luckily the band around your chest hadn't be bothered by your sleeping so your cover wasn't blown when you woke up. You prepared yourself for the day and made your way to the training area where the other knights in training were waiting. Leo was standing on a small pedestal so everyone could see him.
"Goodmorning everyone, today we're going to be doing some offense attacks so make sure you are prepared. Find a partner and take turns using offensive attacks. I'll be going around observing and critiquing you. There will also be other superiors observing today so try your best." Leo loudly spoke.
You had grabbed the same sword you had been using recently and found Cecil waiting for you. He smirked at you and you just rolled your eyes. You two had taken your stances and waited for the other to make the first move. This time whoever it was to make the first move was allowed to continue making advances to practice while the other would use defensive techniques. After a few hours of going back and forth along with a few breaks here and there lunch had finally arrived.
You were trying all day not to be suspicious but that only made your performance in sparring worse. Cecil had noticed and of course he questioned you about it. You shrugged it off as being nervous on your first day.
Even Leo had checked on you while passing by and he could tell that your performance was different then when you had fought him.
"Hey Henry, you feeling okay?" Leo asked you while you were taking a short break. Your attacks were getting sloppy and you could tell you needed a break.
You simply nodded and wiped your forehead.
"Lunch hour is in a few minutes so you can get some energy then." Leo suggested.
You smiled and nodded again. You put your sword away after waving goodbye to Leo and met up with Cecil. You two had walked to the dinner hall and sat with Naomi.
As soon as you had sat down you held your head in your arms and sighed, this obviously catching your friend's attention.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Naomi asked while setting down her fork.
"I'm just really exhausted." You sighed back then lowered your voice, "It's also hard keeping up an act, but I guess I'll have to get used to it."
"That sounds like it sucks, is there anything I can do to help?" Naomi asked. Cecil was eating while listening to you two.
"No, I'll be alr-" You started when Cecil had cut you off.
"You told me you were just nervous." He spoke with food still in his mouth.
"Well I am, but if I were to say anything else then who knows who could be listening." You sighed, "And quit talking to me with food in your mouth, nasty."
You punched his arm and he winced. After swallowing his food he responded with furrowed eyebrows, "Hey, you don't have to hit me for it."
"I think she does." Naomi shrugged continuing to eat.
"Thanks Naomi." Cecil huffed.
For the rest of lunch they chatted while finishing up their food. Cecil made sure not to talk with food in his mouth to avoid being hit again.
Once lunch was done you and Cecil had walked back to the training grounds. On the way there you had seen Link leaning against a wall watching everyone come in. A few people nodded as they walked by and some just ignored him.
