The morning sunrise was the thing to wake you up from your deep slumber. After you had been given the position of a royal knight yesterday you had been shown your new room, which was in fact next to Zelda's room and Link's room. It was most definitely an upgrade from what you had before, it was giant and had huge stained glass windows on the outside wall. There was even a personal bathroom and maids in charge of cleaning it all. You had gotten cleaned up then went straight to bed when you had gotten the chance yesterday.
With the burning sun in your eyes, you shielded them as you woke up. You stretched and looked around the room seeing that it was most definitely not the same one you woke up in yesterday morning. You were alone and it was eerily quiet, not even footsteps were heard outside your door.
You got out of your giant bed but were halted by the deep aching pain coming from your back injury. Huffing you pushed past it, trying your best to ignore the almost unbearable pain. You didn't remember it being that bad yesterday.
As soon as you were about to get off your bed someone knocked at your door, "Come in?" You answered.
A nurse came in with a bucket of water and some bandages. "I'm here to replace your bandages." She smiled. You faintly recognized her from yesterday while leaving the infirmary.
You smiled back and faced away from her so she could replace the bandages. You took off your shirt and covered your chest with slightly pink cheeks. She gently unwrapped the bandages, not wanting to reopen the wound.
"It seems overnight you might have opened it a little, there's a bit of blood on the bandages." She frowned. "Try not to lay on your back, try your stomach since laying on your side might mess with it too. If laying on your stomach is too uncomfortable we can find an arrangement with pillows and blankets to ensure the injury does not get worse."
You simply nodded, not knowing what to add to her advice. The nurse dabbed your wound with cold water soaked cloth from the bucket making you flinch. The cold water was definitely contrasting the warmth of your bed you had laid in minutes prior.
After she had cleaned your wound she got new bandages and wrapped your torso again, including the shoulder support too.
"I'm kind of embarrassed to ask this, but what do I do about my chest since I can't wear a corset?" You quietly asked.
"Ooh! Since you're a knight as well you need mobility, so we've instructed our tailors to make you something for your chest! You'll be able to move in it and still have your chest supported." She smiled kindly at you. She stood up and made her way towards the door.
"Thank you, that really means a lot." You smiled back. It was nice to have people in the castle looking out for you.
The nurse left and closed the door behind her. Your wound definitely felt better now since it wasn't smothered in old blood. You noticed that your dressers had some dresses if you wanted to wear them, along with training clothes, and casual clothes that weren't dresses as well. Since you didn't have the newly tailored clothes for your chest you were just going to have to wear a loose corset for now. You got dressed in the loose corset and loose dress so your back wasn't affected. The dress was a light flowy sky blue dress with off shoulder cuffs connecting to your dress. (imagine an off the solder top) The torso was form-fitting around the waist but not tight enough to hurt, and the bottom of the dress loosely flowed off. Your bandages on your shoulders were shown but they didn't look terrible so you didn't mind.
After getting dressed you cleaned up and made your way outside your room. It was odd not needing to hide your femininity or identity anymore but you already had people that were walking by staring at you. You went to the maid's rooms and saw that Naomi was on window cleaning duty again, so you took a paper and wrote that you had requested for her to clean your room on the board. You searched for her, and she was nearby since it was still early in the morning. You found her and brought her back to your room so you two could finally talk again.
