Geraldine's POV

"Dad, please tell me what the hell you just said a while ago. Explain it to me."

Okay, hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa'rin nagreregister sa utak ko ang mga sinabi ni Hazeo Alvareoz.

Secretary na ako? How come?

"I said it clearly, Hunter. Do you have a lot of earwax perhaps?"

Tumaas ang kilay ko. So ako eh may earwax din? 'Tsaka ang kailangan namin este ako lang pala. Bakit nga ako naging secretary overnight? Nakakaloka.

"Dad, I'm not even joking right now. You said I will be owning our company 7 months from now. Why are you giving it to me this early?"

Tahimik lang akong nakikinig sa kanila. Hindi naman kasi ako makasabat kahit na ang dami kong gustong itanong. Ugh!

"My assistant will explain it to you later. I'll be leaving now 'cause your mom's gonna kill me if I'm late again on our date."

"She's here in Manila?" tanong ni Hunter. Oo nga pala. May lupain nga pala sila na kahit saang research ko eh hindi ko mahanap kung saang lupalop ba iyon. Tagong tago my gosh.

"Yup. She said that she was so bored and wanted to smell some polluted air. I sometimes even think that your mom's pregnant. She's weird."

Kumunot ang noo ko. Wanted to smell some polluted air? So yung tagong lupain nila eh merong fresh na fresh air? Parang gusto ko tuloy bumisita kaya lang hindi ko talaga alam kung saang lupalop iyon.

"In your age, I don't think so. But dad, are you serious about giving the whole company to me?"

Nakita kong tumaas ang kilay ni Mr. Hazeo. "I think you're ready, so yes." tumayo na ito mula sa couch. "Okay, I'm leaving, and please don't forget about the meeting later. See you." giit nito at lumabas na ng office.

Naiwan kaming tahimik ni Hunter dito sa loob. So, magtatanong na ba ako?

Bago pa man ako makapagsalita ay nauna na si Hunter. "A box is on your desk. Wear that later after your noon break."

"W-Wait lang Sir! Bakit naging secretary ako bigla?" tanong ko.

Tiningnan niya ako. "Because I like you."

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko. "H-Ho?"

Ngumiti siya sa'kin. "I like you as an employee. I like your personality. It somehow reminds me of someone and If I'm not mistaken, your family is having a problem right now, am I right?"

Kumunot ang noo ko. "P-Paano niyo po nalaman?" tanong ko. Pinapastalk niya ba ako?

"My dad ordered someone to investigate, spy, and stalk you overnight. He brought us the information and it's saying that you've run away from your parents' house and you've been staying at your aunt's home for a while now. The latest update was that your niece Lovelie a.k.a your cousin is now in the hospital and she has leukemia."

Napanganga ako. Pati ba naman yung sekreto ng pamilya namin na anak ni ate Alyana si Lovelie eh nalaman nila? Infairness ang galing nung inutusan nila ah.

"In your case right now, your dad has been giving you 1 thousand dollars a month but you're not spending it. Sinabi mo nga sa'kin kahapon na they are arranging your marriage so I think that's the reason why you're not spending the money. Now that your niece is in the hospital, you need money, and you know that the CEO's secretary has a high salary, right? That's the best reason why my dad and I picked you to be my secretary."
