Wanting to be Free (Hawks x Reader)

Ch. 7

No ones pov

"I finally found her...Y/N, she's still alive." The winged hero mumbles as the wind brushes past him. Few moments of remembering his past, Hawks' thoughts are interrupted when his sidekick opens the roof door. "Hawks, sir! There's an attack down town, we should aid the heroes with helping the civilians. It seems it's not the work of humans."

"Oh?! Sounds fun, let's get goin then shall we?" Hawks jumps from the ledge of the building leaving his sidekick to take the stairs yet again.

Time skip

There's screeches throughout the many dancing flames. Buildings here and there burning. "The hell are those things?!"

"Hey aren't those the Nomu things from the USJ attack the other day? You know, that thing AllMight took down?" Hawks' sidekick managed to say after catching his breath. Hawks hums in response, thinking of what to do while red feathers fly around pulling people out of danger.

"Civilians are safely removed from this area! There's still more down the other street, le-."
Hawks was interrupted once again, but this time by a loud explosion going off a few blocks down. "The hell?!" He mumbles facing the noise, resulting a Nomu to get away from him.

Else where (Y/N's pov)

'My head hurts....why does it hurt when I think about my past...let alone him?' I think to myself, rubbing my temples. I shift in my seat right as a knock was heard from the door.

My so called 'sidekicks' walk in holding a few papers. "Miss Zero, here's the information we could gather on the League. There wasn't much to go off of, but we'll keep searching." The one known as Calamity said as she handed me a stack of papers.

'....'
'....'

As I skim through the notes I finally speak up, "Zero is fine...and thank you." Looking up and setting the pages back in their folders I set them down on the nearby table. "The organization is new, you found more than enough, tha-." Mid sentence, the sound of an explosion erupted, shaking the building.

"This can wait for later!" Havoc rushed to the window to see a large cloud of smoke, "it's not far from here, whatcha wanna do?!"

"Calamity, you stay here and keep ready at all times." I say as I walk out onto my office balcony, "Havoc, you come with me."

"Right!" They say in unison.

I grab Havoc and leap over the stone rail, disappearing into the distance.

Havoc and I make our way closer to the mess. We run through the many alleyways as a shortcut. As we pass one of the alleyways, I freeze. Turning slightly to stare into the darkness.

'No-mu?!'

Else where (no one's pov)

Hawks lands a kick on a passing Nomu as it ran closer to civilians, knocking it away. Letting others take care of it. "Hawks!"

He turns to see one of the sidekicks he saw just earlier today. He thinks for a few seconds. "You're Zero's sidekick right? If you're here, then where's she?!" Hawks asks.

Havoc blinks a few times letting the question sink in, "whatcha talkin about, she's right he-." He turns around to see no one, "re....oh god, where'd she go?!" He shifts his head side to side looking for the female hero, pulling his hair as he did so. He faces the winged hero once again, "I swear she was just with me..."

Hawks opened his mouth to say something, but before he could get even a word out, a scream echoed tough the alleyways behind Havoc. Both heroes snapped their heads in the direction of the sound.

Not a moment later without hesitation, Hawks jumped up and darted into the shadows towards the scream that screeched again.
Havoc following slightly behind.
