Ch. 8

No ones pov

'No-mu?!' The female hero turns more in the direction of the alleyway. Facing the enormously buff creature, she takes a step back, slightly trembling. "Wh-what are....one of you d-d-doing here?!" She questions out loud.

The Nomu screeches loudly, rushing forward. Failing to block the impact of it's attack, Zero is smashed into the concrete. Letting out a loud scream, blood trickles down her face.

Y/N's pov

Nomu screeches again as if talking to me...my eyes widen, 'he's...' the creature slams it's fist into my atomic causing me to scream again.

"Heh, Keigo hasn't been doing a real good job at looking out for ya, I see!" A husky voice peers through my scream. Blue flames push the Nomu off of me, causing it to a screech loudly as it burns.

Not long after catching on fire, the Nomu is nothing but a pile of ashes. 'His eyes...' I think as I watched it fall, 'showed sadness?'

"You usually thank someone when they save your ass." The male's voice chuckles. I jolt at the sound and glance in his direction. "It seems Keigo re-." He began to speak again but I interrupted him.

"Kei-go?" I question before I cough a bit before I glance back up. The man just stares at me with a blank look. Few moments of silence later, he laughs kind of sadly, "I see, your memories...you'll remember sometime sooner or later." He glances behind me for a second then back at me. "I'm sure of it...until next time." He pats my head a few times before walking off. Before turning the corner he glances back at me, his eyes glowing, mouth saying something I couldn't hear...before I knew it he was gone.

No one pov

'Zero!' Hawks' thoughts in the clouds as he and Havoc made their way through the maze of the alleyways. Coming up onto the scene of Zero lazily leaning against a wall, arm clutched to her abdomen, blood down her face and glued in her hair, with a smeared pile of ash not too far from her.

"ZERO!!" They both call out as they rush to the female. "What happened?!" One paniced, "We heard screaming and loud screeches, what happened?" The other questioned.

"B-blue..." she mumbled. Both males looked at her confused. "Familiar." She mumbled again.

Time skip (no one's pov)

"And there you go, just take it easy for a while." A medic packs his things after tending to the female hero who nods to his statement. The medic leaves soon after giving the other hero in the room a nod as he passes by.

"Glad that you'll be alright, tho I still wanna know what happened." Hawks leans against the wall next to her. Glancing at her, he notices the look of deep thought.

Several moments later Zero speaks up, "How come...it's hard to think about you're hero name?" She asks.

Hawks blinks a few times before looking at her, "My hero name? What about it?" He questions.

"It's....familial as if I knew it before today?" She kinda questions herself out loud.

"Hawks was a name given to me by someone I hold dear. It reminds me to never give up on a goal I have." He ponders after answering. "You'll be fine Zero, just give yourself some time, I'm sure next week will help you sort some things out." He pushes himself off the wall, walking over to the window, "you know where to find me if you need anything." He opens the window and jumps on the ledge.

"You're no longer alone....y/n" he mumbles just before he leaps off the ledge.

She stares at the window he jumped out slightly shocked, 'not alone?' The edges of her mouth curve up before she allows darkness to take over her.

What she never thought could happen, is happening...someone cares.
