Good Dementor?

(Apparently dementors grow like fungi? Anyway, I'm using this)

There was once a dementor. But this dementor was different than all others.

When it was made the others sensed something was wrong. For it could speak. And seemed more human than all others. It still looked like the rest, however it acted like a human, spoke like a human, and did not have the same affect on people that dementors were supposed to have. It didnt suck the happiness out of the area. It couldnt even suck out people's souls.

As soon as the ministry heard of this, they were on scene. They didnt know how to react when they cast their patronus and all of the dementors fled. Except for one.

The one was in the middle of the clearing whimpering as if it were scared.

One of the ministry workers from the department of regulation and control of magical creatures hesitantly approached the dementor, with his wand in front of him pointed towards the creature.

The creature raised his hands in surrender, still whimpering. "P-please dont h-hurt me!"

The ministry worker lowers his wand slightly as the other ministry workers keep their wands raised, fending off the rest of the dementors.

"Can you understand me?" He says towards the dementor.

"Y-yes. I can understand y-you"

"Ok. Well I'm going to ask you some questions. You're quite different from the other dementors arent you?" Ministry man asks.

"Yes. B-but I dont know h-how. I can speak and have a p-personality, and I-I have some intelligence.."

"Have you ever harmed a human? What do you think of humans?"

The dementor finally lowers its hands, believing it is safe, and begins to speak with confidence, unafraid of the man anymore.

"I havent ever harmed a human. I wouldnt want to. I've seen what the others do to humans and it's horrible. I believe that humans are creatures like us and that everyone has a right to live. Everyone deserves happiness. Despite the fact that dementors are supposed to suck the happiness out of places..."

The man stares at the dementor in shock. He doesnt know what to do. The creature is obviously different than other dementors. And if he is not wrong, the dementor seems harmless. He looks to the others who are still keeping the other dementors at bay.

"okay. Thank you for cooperating. I think we are going to have to take you away from here. You obviously dont belong here. We can take you to the ministry for investigation to figure out how you are you. You will be safe. No harm will fall upon you whilst we are near. Unless you'd rather stay of course?"

The dementor just hovered there for a moment, thinking. "Okay. I will go with you. I've always felt out of place hear anyway."

The ministry workers leave and arrive to the ministry.

They go straight to the head of the department of regulation and control of magical creatures, who is also accompanied by the ministry of magic himself. (Kingsley Shacklebolt)

"Ah" the minister says "so this is the famous dementor unlike the others!"

(I HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO WRITE KINGSLEY SO JUST GO WITH IT)

The dementor attempts to hide behind the ministry worker it spoke to before.

The ministry worker told it that it was safe to come out and that no one here would harm it.

The minister asked the dementor many questions. And after a long while, they had determined that it was probably a mutation of some sort to cause the creature to be like this.

The head of the department of regulation and control of magical creatures jotted down notes and kept saying "amazing" under breath.

Finally the minister looked towards her and asked "Well Ms. Granger-Weasley, what do you suggest we do about this situation? Do you believe it is as harmless as it seems?"

The woman, Ms Granger smiled "I believe it is actually closer to being human than dementor. It clearly has a personality, human intelligence, and the ability to speak. It has not shown any signs of hostility. However we should take some precautions just in case something occurs to make it take dementor traits. I suggest that someone who is able to conjure a patronus should take it in and care for it, watch over it, etcetera. And perhaps we should give it a name and profile here in the ministry. Calling it an "it" seems a bit harsh."

The minister nods to this, and replies "I agree. But who would be willing to take in a dementor?"

Ms.Granger smiled once more,
"I know just the person."

ementors POV
Luna Lovevood-Scamander is strange. But a good person. I like her. I enjoy her and her husband Rolf's company.

Ever since that day at the ministry I have been studying books and asking questions about humans, so I can learn to adapt to be one of them. Although my outside will never be human, my inside could be.

Oh! You must be wondering how I can read. Well since I dont have eyes, the ministry lady Ms. Granger was able to cast a charm that enabled me to see.
(Just go with it)

I have discovered what gender is and I dont exactly feel like I have a specific one. That may be the one human thing I lack. But Luna did say that even some people are like that and that made me feel better. So people just say "they/them" when talking about me.

I did get a name though! I read it in a boom of names. And it doesnt feel like it's meant for any specific gender. So it fits perfectly!

Quinn. I go by Quinn. I have a name and it is amazing.

Luna also teaches me a lot about people and the wizarding world.

I wish I could do magic. But I've never shown any signs of possessing magic. That's okay though because i can still watch it and learn about it.

I've even been able to become friends with patronuses. I dont think they can understand me and  speak though. But they are really cool and I'm glad they dont affect me like other dementors.

I really enjoy spending my days with Luna. I learn so much. I've even met some of her friends, including Harry Potter who's apparently famous in this world. I cant believe he was able to take down the evil guy Voldemort. He was lucky to have friends to support and help him. They're so cool.

Anyway, I'm going to go for now. I want to go read Hogwarts, A History again. Mrs. Granger was right, this is a really good book!Maybe one day you'll hear from me again!

A/N: Wow that was a lot. Me and my friend came up with this idea after I drew a dementor an patronus. I couldnt figure out how to make it look as if the dementor was fleeing, so we got this idea. Boom. Good dementor!

Heh. Its surprisingly not horrible. I'm shocked at how well the patronus turned out.
