So I got told from one of the comment Hijackers that today (June 5th) is none other than Rick Troll Riordan's birthday!
So,... HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICK RIORDAN!
Literally my favorite author ever. His books helped me so much growing up. (although I'm literally only 15)
His books got me interested in mythology.
His books got me interested in ancient cultures.
Which got me into Archaeology.
Which is now what I want to do when I get older.
His books also got me into writing. If it weren't for Rick Riordan, I would not be a writer. None of my books would exist.
His books helped my imagination grow.
His books made me want to go to school everyday. Because I would think: "Annabeth would be disappointed in me if I don't go to school."
His books made me focus in school. That way I could go home and read more.
His books made me a fast reader.
His books made me an advanced reader.
And last but not least, his books saved my life.
Because I was thinking about suicide a couple years ago due to drama at school and home issues. But instead of attempting suicide, I thought, "Wouldn't they all be disappointed in me for this? Besides, Percy and Nico, and Leo, and Annabeth, and Reyna, and really all of them. Went through so much more than I ever did. And they are all still alive. Well, none of them if they died, died of suicide"
And I also wouldn't have been able to read anymore.
So literally, his books helped me so much while growing up.
I started reading his books when I was 6. Now I'm almost 16.
And I still read about them.
I still write about them.
Because Rick Riordan is awesome.
