"Here's the fox miraculous, the horse miraculous, the monkey miraculous, and finally the turtle miraculous." Marinette handed the boxes to Master Fu one at a time as she listed them out loud. When she got to the turtle miraculous she handed Master Fu the bracelet, and he gratefully put it on.
"Thank you, Marinette." He said. "I'm glad you and Cat Noir have finally defeated Hawk Moth."
"Yeah, but the victory didn't last long." She grumbled.
"I was afraid it wouldn't." He confessed.
"Why?"
"Because, with great heroes always come supervillains. Sadly it seems one cannot exist without the other."
Marinette thought back to all the fairytales and comic books she had ever read. He does have a good point. She noted.
"It was a clever plan, I have to say." He continued. "I would never have thought to heal Emilie. Well done."
"Thanks, Master Fu, but the lucky charm did most of the work. I just figured out what it was telling me." Mariente replied humbly.
"Yes, but you were the one who decided to call on it early, and you were the one who deciphered it. There is an intelligent girl behind the mask, Marinette. I am proud of you."
Marinette beamed. "Thank you, Master Fu."
He nodded. "Thank you for bringing the miraculous back. There is more than one thing to celebrate today." Master Fu stood.
"Oh?" Marinette asked as she stood.
"Paris's heroes have defeated Hawk Moth, a family has been reunited, and I also heard Cat Noir got a girlfriend."
Marinette's cheeks burned as she spluttered. "Wha... but how... were you there!?!"
Master Fu laughed. "I wish I could've been there, but no, I wasn't. I saw a post on the ladyblog."
"What!" Marinette practically shouted. She quickly pulled out her phone. There was a new posting that took up most of the page in giant black letters. Marinette read it out loud.
"'Cat Noir's Love Life. Click on the picture below to read more.'" She scrolled down and saw a perfect photo of her and Cat Noir's kiss.
"Alya!" She seethed. Master Fu laughed.
"It looks like you have quite a lot to catch up on." He said with a knowing smile.
"Have a good day, Marinette."
"Bye, Master Fu!" She waved bye. She tried to smile, but it was more of a scowl. As she walked out of the obscure shop, she quickly dialed Alya's number.
"Hey, girl!" She answered almost immediately.
"Alya, WHAT IN THE WORLD DID YOU DO!?!"
"Oooh, you saw the post, didn't you? I couldn't help myself! It was so romantic, and it's also my job as author of the ladyblog to report everything on Paris's heroes!"
"But... but... what about me?" Marinette spluttered.
"You were the one who kissed him in front of everyone." She pointed out. "If you didn't want anyone to know, why were you so obvious about it?"
Marinette was quiet. "It was in the moment, okay!" She finally exploded.
"Aww! That's so cute!!" Alya squealed. "Honestly, I don't know what you're so embarrassed about, girl!"
Marinette let out a breath. "Yeah, I guess you're right. It's just that, he's my first... boyfriend, and all..."
Alya interrupted her with a squeal. "Marichat is official!"
"As I was saying," Marinette continued, "it's new and fun and scary and I'd rather not have the whole world knowing about it the minute I figure it out myself."
Alya was quiet. "I'm sorry, girl. I shouldn't have done that. Forgive me?"
Marinette smiled. "Always. Besides, I did kinda overreact." She started laughing.
"Okay, I overreacted a lot!" Marinette confessed.
Alya joined in on her laughter. "Yeah, you definitely did. So, we're good now?"
"Yeah, we're good."
"Can I do an interview on you two? A hero's life behind the mask. It'd be perfect!"
"Alya!" Marinette chastised.
"Oh come on, please? It'd be great publicity!" Alya pleaded.
Marinette laughed and shook her head. Alya would always be Alya.
