The next morning, Maggie and Neveah were dead asleep in Maggie's bed on the school morning. Scooter had an early hockey practice that morning which left the girls at the house with Maggie's parents. The room was quiet and a complete mess. Magazines and clothes littered the floor from the girls' evening of fun the night before. Makeup was sprawled across the vanity and the windows were left wide open, the curtains blowing recklessly to their advantage.

The bed was a mess, blankets and sheets all over the place with pillows misshapen. Maggie lied at the foot of the bed by the footboard with an arm hanging off the bed below her head and a small blanket over her mid section. Neveah slept in the middle of the bed resting on a pillow, drooling all over the sheets with both arms below the large fluffy pillow below.

Downstairs, Maggie's mother had called the girls' names three times already, waiting for them to come down and eat breakfast since they were catching a ride to school with Maggie's father. Mrs. Brooks made her way upstairs and walked down the hall, heading to the room at the end of the hall, just past Scooter's clean room. She knocked on the door and waited, without a response, she grasped the door knob and pushed the door open.

"Oh my goodness." Her eyes widened at the room. She stared around at the mess, not impressed. "Girls." She spoke. "Get up, you'll late for school and this room is a mess."

She walked over to the windows, pulling the windows down and the curtains stopped dancing, falling stiffly along the wall. Neveah groaned and rolled over while Maggie turned and lifted herself up to face her mother. "Hey mom." She smiled groggily.

"Good morning to you too, Maggie." She nods. "It's eight fifteen. Classes start in a half hour." She picked a pillow off the floor and fluffed it up, placing it at the head of the bed.

Maggie sat herself and turned her upper body, tapping Neveah's side, who groaned again and hid her face. "Come on, Nev." She shook her best friend. "Rise and shine."

"I want this room clean after school." Her mother spoke. "And Neveah, how many times have told you not to feed the dog pizza?"

"Too many times, Mrs. Brooks. I won't do it again."

The woman rolled her eyes playfully, knowing that was a lie, and turned, closing the door behind her as she left. With a yawn and stretch, Maggie got off her bed and wandered around her messy room. Heading for her bathroom, she freshened up and brushed out her hair, clipping the side pieces back. "Come on, Nev!" Maggie shouted. "Get out of bed!" She called, leaving the bathroom.

"We shouldn't of stayed up past midnight." The girl said, lifting herself up and dragged herself out of the bed. Neveah plopped down in front of the vanity, grabbed the comb and began to brush out her hair. She watched Maggie in the mirror, who looked for something to wear for the day.

Maggie rummaged through her wardrobe in search of something to wear that day. It was Friday, so, she decided on something comfortable for the day. Picking up a pair of high waist loose fitting stone wash jeans, she pulled a black belt from one of the hooks and tossed the two pieces onto her bed, followed by grabbing a red, slightly cropped, turtle neck long sleeve. With a pair of combat boots, she finished the look and got herself dressed.

At school, Maggie and Neveah had split up from one another and headed for their respective class. She walked into her English class and found her seat beside Adam Banks, her current partner for the year, and set her books down. Looking around the room, she noticed the JV boys seemed a bit gloomy, almost staring at Adam with a deadly glare to which she turned around.

Tapping Adam's shoulder, she leaned forward on her desk and he looked over to her. "What?"

"Why are they staring over here like that?" She nods carefully towards the kids in the back.

Adam glanced back momentarily. "Um, I'm not sure."

She nods. "Hmm. Wonder what it could be."

"Same. Hey, you showing up to the game tonight? Rick and Cole keep complaining that you're always with the Ducks."

Part of her smiled, were her older friends jealous of her hanging around with the new hockey team? She kind of liked it because they were on her case constantly within the last few weeks. It bothered her that they kept pestering her to not hang out with them, which only made her want to hang out with them some more. Maggie wasn't one to typically cause trouble, but because her brother's friends were, she decided to play the game as well.

"Only if you want me there." She sat back in her seat. "They've been assholes lately and I don't like it."

He nods at her kind words of wisdom about the boys, looking to his papers. "I don't mind." He sighed. "I'm just trying to keep up with them."

"You're doing great."

"For a freshmen." He replied. "Not for them."

"You'll get there, Banksie." She patted his shoulder.

At the back of the class, Goldberg lied back in his seat tiredly, glancing over to Averman and Fulton, Luis too busy staring at the several 'hot' girls in the class to even listen. The night before, all of their clothes had been thrown into the showers with the water running into a boil. It took them a bit to figure out how to get their clothes without getting burned by the water, followed by how they were supposed to the locker room without a spare set of clothes. A mere few believed Maggie was part of it because of her constant connection to Varsity, but she had no clue.

"Charlie thinks she's got something to do with it." Fulton shook his head. "I don't blame him, look at her." He points.

"They're partners." Goldberg said. "Said so the other day."

"I don't think it was her." Averman shook his head, pulling his glasses up.

"And why not?" Fulton turned.

Averman shrugged. "She seems harmless."

"Hope you're right." He sighed.

"Hey, why don't we go up and ask her?" Goldberg spoke. "I'm sure she'd say if she were or not."

"You got bigger problems than her, Goldie." Averman spat with a chuckle, lifting his hand to his mouth and licked the top of his hand, referring to Julie. He was backup goalie and Julie was first because she was better than he was, and Goldberg didn't like that.

"Oh piss off, will ya?" He called back.

The teacher stopped writing on the chalkboard, turning back to look at the small group at the back of the class. "Pardon?" She asked.

"Oh nothing." Goldberg said kindly, faking it.

She nods before going back to writing their class notes onto the green board. Maggie glanced back to them briefly before going back to writing her notes down. She knew something was bothering them, but didn't quite know what it was. She did want to know because she wanted to help them. To mess with her brother's friends and prove that she could be friends with whoever she wanted, she needed to engage with the new hockey team and become their friend.

She already had three: Connie Moreau, Julie Gaffney, and Dwayne Robertson.
