When sprints were finished, the players skated over to the boards and began filing out by the door. One after the other in a line, they stepped off the ice and glanced over to the two girls standing side by side, waiting and watching. "You shouldn't be here." Charlie told them.

"Oh come on, Charlie." Connie walked over to the girls. "I think it's cool."

"Cool?" Nevaeh answered.

"Yeah that you two wanna watch." Julie agreed with Connie.

Charlie and Fulton had walked off to the locker rooms whilst the rest stayed and huddled in a group. Every one of them stood taller than the two girls, their skates giving them that extra few inches of height. "Oh, no, I didn't want to watch."

"So, you came for what then?" Ken asked.

"More interested in the chips, I see." Luis told her.

She heated up and looked away. Maggie noticed and took the opportunity to speak up. "Just dropped by, not really a reason why." She explained. "I can tell Coach Orion's style of teaching has changed a bit."

"Change?" Goldberg spat.

"A bit?" Russ raised his brows.

She nodded with a smile. "Yeah, he taught my brother and his friends. Course, they knew two way hockey, so, it was a piece of cake."

"And you don't play, right?" Guy spoke.

The girl nodded as a response. "Not any sport." She replied. "Nor does Nev." She nods.

"Figured so." Averman laughed, earning a punch from Neveah who walked off with a scoff and hair flip.

"That's my cue." She points to her friend who pushed the doors open and left. "I'll see you around."

Maggie turned and wandered off. The team watched her jog out of the arena to follow her best friend. They headed for their locker room and Dwayne shook his head with a small grin at the girls. He didn't have too many female friends, and if he did, they were farm animals. Those two were good company and he especially liked speaking to Maggie. She was always lively, looking at everything in a positive way.

In the locker, the team had began speaking about those two girls and Charlie didn't hesitate to speak up about it. He asked his friends why it mattered so much what those two girls said. He mentioned Neveah being all about herself, a real snob, and that Maggie wasn't any good for them if she was friends with Varsity. Charlie was looking out for his friends, but also blocking the interactions with the enemy.

He wanted absolutely nothing to do with either girl, nor Varsity.

It didn't take long for an argument to begin between many people. Lots of the boys, Connie, and Julie liked being friends with those two girls. Those two knew their way around the school and had connections, they were fun people to be with and they didn't want to stop being friends because Charlie said so, along with Fulton who sided with Charlie.

An argument which continue in the showers, which then ended up in a soap fight among all of them, except the girls.

Out of the locker room, Dwayne wandered through the halls with his bag slung over one of his shoulders and placed his hat on his head neatly. He was headed for his dorm to get some work done because it was one of the many rules Coach Orion had in place for them. Along the way, he slowed his pace when coming up the stairs as he heard some people talking among one another.

"Your sister's gonna ruin it all." Rick said.

"No, she won't." Scooter shot back quietly.

"Yeah, she will." Cole poked the boy's shoulder. "She's nosy and getting comfortable with that team."

"What, you expect her friends to be Varsity and Banksie?" Scooter shot, not impressed his friends were this way. For boys who once hated the girl, and then liked her, were now suddenly turning and disliking her again. "She's not your sister, I'll look out for her."

"You bet you will." Rick said. "And if she asks about dinner Friday, she isn't invited."

"Neither is Nevaeh." Cole said.

"Yeah, whatever. I got it. Just stick to your side and I'll stick to mine." Scooter retorted, getting frustrated. "She's just their friends."

Dwayne turned and decided to go back down the stairs until the coast was clear so he didn't into some trouble with Varsity for snooping involuntarily. Jogging outside, he'd run into someone he didn't expect to see. She stepped back after running into him and looked to see who it was. A smile appeared across her face as she was kind of glad to see Dwayne.

"Dwayne, hey," She smiled. "Getting some studying done?"

He nods and pulled his hat off, a gentleman thing to do while talking. "Coach Orion knows best." He breathed.

"You don't like him too much, do you?" She asked.

He shook his head, feeling bad that he didn't like the man, but it wasn't his fault. "Not exactly my kind of forte." He answered.

"I noticed, Rancher Dwayne."

He chuckled at her remark. "Rancher, huh?" And she nodded. "Are you busy?" He asked her.

She shook her head, wondering what he had in mind. "No, what's up? Where we going?"

"Sounds borin', but I was wonderin' if you'd wanna show me around town? Ain't much left to explore here after a few months." He chuckled.

She nodded. "Sure. I can even show you where the girls and I hang out."

"Let me guess," He pondered. "A mall of some sort?"

She laughed and pursed her lips, almost embarrassed about it. He wasn't thought, they were two different people from two different backgrounds. Both were rich, the lifestyles were simply different. "Yeah... I mean, if you wanna go to a roller derby or bowling alley, we can explore stuff like that too."

He shrugged. "I'll go wherever you think is best to go."

"All right, Saturday. Ten o'clock we leave from here. I'll meet you at the top of those steps." She points to the steps behind them that led to the dorm building.

He'd turned and glanced at them before looking back to her. "All right, but ugh, wouldn't it be easier if we left earlier in the mornin'? You know, for those deals or somethin'?"

She laughed at him. "I don't get up early on weekends." She answered. "Ten o'clock, I'll be here." She points to him. "And so will you!" She cheered.

"Sure thing, girly." He nods and followed her up the stairs into the dorm building. He headed for the stairs and she walked down the narrow hallway to get to the far side of the building where the female dorms were.
