Hey guys,
Long time no see...

I know it's been a really long time since I've updated and I fee really bad. I haven't forgotten about this story, it's just I'm suffering from serious writers block. I know where I want this story to go, it's just the way of getting it there.

Anyway here is a chapter, I hope it fulfils some cravings and hopefully I will update again soon. However I should let you know that I just started university so there might not be a whole lot of updating anyway. Thanks for reading, follow, share, comment, vote, etc.

Thanks for being amazing,

Marie

Daryl's P.O.V
I sit in the back of the car with Cat laying asleep on my chest, her soft snores faint in my ears. We've been on the road for a week now, searching for any place to stay. I look down at her peaceful face, my heart aching with worry. It won't be long now until she has the baby and my thoughts are constantly revolving around her safety.

We drive down a back street in one of the empty towns of Georgia, looking for a place to stay until the baby is delivered. The car begins to slow and I look towards the front, "What is it?"

Rick points outside the car and I look out to where he is pointing. A couple hundred metres away is a drive way leading deeper into the woodsy terrain.

"Maybe we'll find a house down there, a creek, maybe get some fresh water." Carl says from the front.

Rick looks back and glances at Cat, "It's worth a shot, it's not like we have much time."

I nod my head, "I'll take anything at this point."

Rick nods his head and steps out of the car, heading towards the others. Carl turns and looks at her worried, "She's due any day now."

"I know." I say, looking down at her.

"What happens if she-" He begins but I cut him off.

"Don't say that. She's going to be fine." I say, staring him down.

He swallows and nods his head. The car door opens and Rick hops in, "They're in."

I nod my head and he starts the car and we drive down the driveway, which is longer than expected. We arrive out front of an older run down house, barely enough room to fit us all in. Rick parks the car by the entrance and I shake Cat awake. She opens her eyes and looks around groggily, "Where are we?"

"We found a house to camp down at for now." I say as she sits up.

She nods her head and yawns, "Okay."

I get out of the car and walk around to her side, opening the door for her. She wriggles to edge and places her feet on the ground, gripping my arm for support. We wait out the front until Rick and the others come out and he looks at Cat, "All clear. There's a bedroom at the end for you."

She nods her head and I help her up the stairs towards the room. I open the door and a queen sized bed sits in the middle of the room with drawers and mirrors pushed around the edge. I walk her over to the bed, sitting her down. She groans as she moves her legs onto the bed and lays back, "I swear, if this baby doesn't come soon..."

I chuckle, "Don't worry, she'll be here soon."

"She?" She asks, raising her eyebrow.

I give a small smile, "Yeah, I think she'll be a she."

She smiles, "And what name will 'she' have?" She asks, using her fingers for the quotations.

I look down at the ground and kick at the floor, "I like the name Amelia."

She smiles, "Your mom's name?"

I nod my head, "And also for Amelia, she helped keep you safe."

Cat looks saddened for a moment before she smiles, "How about we make a deal?"

I raise my eyebrow at her, "What deal?"

"If she's a girl, you name her. But is he's a boy, I name him." She smiles.

I nod my head, "Deal, this is gonna be an easy bet to win."

She rolls her eyes, "Yeah it will be for me."

I pull the arrow out of the squirrels head and pick up the carcass, adding it to the lapel. I've caught half a dozen squirrels, enough for dinner tonight. I head back down the trail towards the house where the others are waiting. We've been at the house for almost two days and there is still no sign of the baby coming. With each day, Cat grows more and more uncomfortable.

Hayden has suggested some things that might help the process but they haven't seemed to have worked. I quickly reach the house and go up the stairs, the sounds of faint talking heard from outside. I enter the house and see everyone gathered in the lounge room as Rick speaks.

"We need to make fortifications, be on the look out for supplies, weapons, cars. Anything that we can use. We could make this place safe, safe enough to stay here for awhile. It's remote enough that not a lot of people will stumble upon it. And if they do, we have to be ready to defend it." Rick says, looking around the group.

"When do you wanna start the fortifications?" Noah asks, leaning against the back wall.

"Sooner rather than later." Rick replies.

"Me, Eugene, Noah, Glenn and Travis can start tomorrow, when the daylight comes back."

"Tara, Sasha and I can go scouting for supplies tomorrow. I saw a general store a couple miles back that we can raid." Rosita states.

"I need to stay here incase the baby decides to come. Cat is in no shape to be doing anything at this point." Hayden says.

"That's the other thing, Cat is under a lot of pressure right now. She can barely move and she is extremely uncomfortable. We need to make this process as easy as we can for her. Maggie, could you possibly keep Judith away from her? I know that you have Beth to look after-" Rick begins.

"It's fine, I can do it." Maggie says, while breastfeeding the baby.

Rick nods and looks over to me, "How'd the hunt go?" He asks.

I pull the rope off my shoulder and put it in the table, "I got enough, I might have to go out again tomorrow."

Rick nods, "Thank you."

I nod and turn, leaving the living room. I walk down the hall towards cat and I's bedroom, the door open ajar. I open the door quietly and look in to see her sleeping, her arm tucked under her head. I walk in and close the door quietly behind me, placing my crossbow on the table. I walk over and sit down on the bed, trying not to jostle her. She stirs slightly but remains asleep.

I lay down with my arm behind my head, the other on my stomach. I stare up at the ceiling and let out a silent breath, the nagging feeling overwhelming me. Lately, I have been extremely worried about Cat and the baby. Hayden has assured me that things are going to be okay, but I can't help but remember when Lori gave birth. I also remember Cat's story with her previous husband James, how she lost the baby.

I turn my head, looking into her peaceful face. Her mouth is slightly ajar and I can hear her soft snores, her nose twitching slightly. I feel my lips twitch up as a piece of hair falls down over her face. I reach my hand forward and gently move the hair out of her face, tucking back into place.

I sigh, "I love you so much."

She remains asleep and I turn to my side facing her, closing my eyes and falling asleep beside her.
