Four: U decided yet?
I looked at the text for a while, not knowing what my answer would be. The weekend was almost up.
The party at Four's was more than I thought it would be. I had never been around that much alcohol in my life. And that's coming from a girl with a father who drank more beer than Homer Simpson. Even then, daddy was responsible when he drank, since he was in such high status around the community.
I had a few drinks though, and didn't smoke anything that was offered to me. You never know these days what type of crazy things could be slipped within a rolled joint. I was glad that we had gone to the party with Jasmine. She made sure to keep us in the loop with everyone who was around us, since this wasn't quite our scene. Niecy and her also hit it off pretty well. More than I had anticipated.
Though we left earlier than expected, Niecy wasn't feeling too well. I think it was her time of the month. And from the lovely syncing powers of mother nature, I knew mine was coming soon.
Jasmine didn't get a chance to introduce us to her sister, said she was in a bitchy mood. I didn't mind, I didn't need any of that negative energy around me when I was trying to unwind and let loose.
"Why are you making that face? Your dad giving you shit again?" Niecy asked, reaching over to get the acetone. She unscrewed the top, poured it into a small glass dish and used a cotton swab to dip into the purple translucent liquid.
I shook my head. Niecy was one of the few people who knew about my home life. We bonded in sharing stories of living in the south side when I first moved in. From then she learned of my dad being the sheriff, my mom passing and my younger sister who was probably struggling with Pops. I need to give her a call, make sure she's still alive and getting through with his drill sergeant parenting skills.
"No, it's not him," I put my phone down, trying to think about what to do with my current situation.
"Uh, you're just going to leave me hanging here?" She questioned, looking at me dumbfoundedly, confused on why I wasn't already spilling all the tea.
"Um, it's about my tutoring gig. I usually have set meet up spots designated to certain students,"
"And?" She dragged.
I shook my head, reaching for a different color polish as the one I had painted on my pinky toe to test was too ugly for me to continue. "And now one of my students wants to change the location,"
She removed any mistakes she had made on her toes with her damp cotton swab. "Change the location to where?"
"His house."
Now she looked up at me, tilting her head to the side in confusion. "His house? Wait," She paused, trying to connect as many dots as she possibly could. "Four invited you to his house?"
