Punishment are there to establish the rules.
My punishments:
- light spanking (only if really necessary)
- sitting on the step/corner
- time out
- writing sentences
- no candy for a certain amount of time
- no phone for a certain amount of time
- early bedtime
No go's:
- taking away of comfort item
- ignoring
- hurting in a serious form
- taking away water, food,...
Never punish a little immediately!!!
1. Tell them to stop
2. Offer a treat (not always)
3. Stern voice (no yelling!)
4. Slight pat on the bum to get their attention
5. Threaten with a punishment
6. Actual punishment
Punishments should teach the little to not do it again and to remember the rule.
For example:
Little talks bad about themselves.
"Please stop. That's not true."
"Now it's enough."
"I'm not afraid to give you a punishment, bun."
"That's it. You will write 'I love and appreciate myself.' 30 times."
(Somehow like that. I just simplified it.)
