-Arabella's POV-
I pulled out my Nimbus 1400 from the ground in the Quidditch changing room. I looked around at my competitors, eying them subtly, but still trying to guess how they play.
There, in line to get on to the pitch next, was James, who was a friend of mine. I hope he got to be chaser. He looked around the room, his chest puffed out with confidence.
Okay, for my opponents. There was Vanille Rint, very small and thin. Not Beater material.
There was Matthew Fudij, who was tall and burly. I gulped. Definitely Beater material.
Before I could look at more of them, I heard the voice of the Gryffindor captain. "Beaters, line up against the wall."
We all did so. He inspected each of us, head to toe. He pointed at Vanille and pointed to the room exit. She ran out sobbing.
He passed by Matt without any problem. He dismissed a couple more before getting to me. I glared at him as he pointed to the exit.
"I'm sorry, what are you trying to say?" I held my hand behind my ear.
"Get out." He snapped.
"Oh, I'm not leaving."
"Out!"
"No!" I couldn't control myself. I punched him as hard as I could in the stomach. I stood there, smugly.
I knew I was going to get at least a detention, but I had to give him a gift before I left.
After he gained his breath, he looked up. I thought he would be frowning, or possibly crying, but he had a grin on his face. "You may stay." Then he walked on.
I couldn't believe it. I stared at him with furrowed brows. He was up to something.
After he went outside and went through all of the chasers and all of the beaters ahead of me in line, he pointed to me and the two people behind me.
He had formed two teams. Him and a huge girl were the beaters on one side and I ended up with a thin guy that was still more muscular than me.
James, as one of the chasers, was on my team. "Ready?" The captain proceeded to blow his whistle.
James immediately took hold of the Quaffle and moved toward the opposing team's goalposts.
I saw the Bludger heading towards James at a quick speed. I sped down towards him. I hit the Bludger towards the other team's Seeker. Poor soul, she got a Bludger in the shoulder, almost knocking her off her broom.
The game went on for a good while. Both Seekers could not find the snitch. The Chasers on the opposing team kept getting hit by the Bludger. Yes, I was demolishing them. I had to do a couple quick Bludger Backbeats and almost had to use my head to hit the Bludger.
Then, the other team's Seeker got a hold of the Snitch. Our team lost, but our points were still very close to the captain's team.
We all got off the pitch for the next lot to play. I sat next to James in the changing room.
"Do you think one of us will make it?" James asked as he slipped off his helmet.
"No. I think both of us will make it. It's obvious we're both amazing."
In about an hour, the captain came into the changing room with the last lot of players. "I've chosen my team. For my Seeker: Jasmine Loft. For my Keeper: Harrison Ernest. For my Chasers: Ava Rocker, Derek Stanley, and James Potter." I gave James a high five at this. "And for the Beaters..."
Please be me. Please be me!
"Arabella King and myself."
James and I high fived again. Those who were not chosen groaned and walked away. The captain didn't even wish them good luck for next year.
The remainder of us, the ones who were chosen, stayed sitting on our benches.
"Time to introduce ourselves. I'm Thomas Wellington, your captain. And now you." He gestured to a dirty blonde.
"I'm Ava Rocker, a fourth year."
Then the small, redhead girl that I played against, spoke up. "I'm Jasmine Loft, a second year."
"I'm Arabella King, call me Bella, and I'm a second year." This continued down to the last person, a pale looking guy.
"I'm Derek Stanley, a seventh year."
"You may all go back to the common room, it's almost curfew."
All the way back inside, all of us chattered about ourselves.
"One time, McGonagall almost caught me sneaking past curfew. I was going out to meet my girlfriend in Hufflepuff." Derek had said proudly.
We made it back to the common room, bidding our goodnights to those who were heading up to the dormitories.
Annie saw me and jumped out of her chair. She hopped towards me with a piece of parchment in her hand. "Look!" She thrust the parchment into my hand.

Anwen KingI immediately stopped reading when I read her name. "Good for you." I smiled.
"I had to see it after classes. When I got there, Flitwick saw me and gave me a spare list. So you made the Quidditch team, right?"
I nodded. "Yep."
"Yeah, Austin Woodhead came stomping in about a half an hour ago. He was speaking some unpleasant words about Quidditch and your captain."
"Well, that's him. Alright, nice talking to you. I'm heading off for bed." I started walking away when Annie called, "Wait!"
I turned back towards her, hoping what she was going to say would be quick. I was horribly tired.
"Can I ask a favor?"
"Sure, shoot."
"Will you lot," she then pointed at James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter, "be nicer to Severus?"
"Be nice to greasy Snivellus? Fat chance."
"What has he ever done horrible to you?" Annie glared at me with her dark blue eyes.
"Uh, existed." I rolled my eyes.
"You absolutely disgust me." She then stomped off to the sofa in front of the fireplace. I shrugged and strolled up to the dorms.
Before I climbed into bed, I pondered about what Annie said. Am I willing to make my sister mad at me? Okay, fine. I'll make it up to her in the morning.
I fell asleep that night, not knowing that I wouldn't change a thing for three years.
