-Arabella's POV-
I surveyed everyone in the room, from the Beaters to the Seekers.
My eyes went to a thin boy in the Beater's line. There's no way he's going to be beater. I thought, then stopped myself, remembering my experience when I first tried out for the Quidditch team.
Suddenly having an amazing confidence in the thin boy, I grinned and continued to study everyone. I gave a thumbs up, looking at James, who smirked in response.
Confused about his smirk, my eyes swept around the room. I almost smacked my forehead when I saw Sirius in the Seeker section. He winked and I rolled my eyes.
I decided to get started. "Thank you all for coming!" I declared and everyone quieted down. "I'm sure all of you are talented, but I can only choose a few of you. Please be good sports and don't have a tantrum on your way out. Got it?"
The crowd nodded and I heard a couple, "Got it."
"Then let's get started!" I pointed at the people in the front of the different sections. "Let's start with you lot!"
They played while I watched. None of them really caught me attention. After they were done, I told them, "Sit on the stands until everyone's done."
I continued to watch, playing every three rounds because I felt like it. Also to have experience with some of them, without tiring myself out.
Now, the thin boy was up for playing, along with me. "What's your name?" I asked.
"Thomas Carter." He answered confidently. The name brought back memories from my years playing with a beater, Captain Thomas.
"Ready to play?"
"Yes." He, once again, replied confidently.
I smiled at him and took off, him following close behind. We started the game.
A Bludger came hurling at our temporary Seeker. I dove down to hit it, but Thomas beat me there. He hit it hard, sending it spiraling quickly at a Chaser on the opposite team. She dodged it, only barely, but impressively.
After that game, they sat on the stands with the others. I strolled into the changing rooms, stopping abruptly when I saw Sirius and James in the front of their lines.
They shrugged innocently, but I knew that they coordinated it. I rolled my eyes and called for the next group to come out.
"Hey, Captain!" Sirius laughed. "What's with that face? You know I'll be amazing out there."
"I'm not so sure about that." I responded with a smirk.
"Really? I'll show you Captain Bushynut. You'll be begging me to be Seeker." Sirius flipped his hair, as usual, dramatically.
"Yeah sure. You're on the other team, so good luck winning now." I hopped on my broom. I had played last game, but I wanted to hit Sirius with a Bludger to prove my point. "James, you're on my team!"
"But-" James started, but my dirty look cut him off.
We were all in the air, Sirius wriggling his eyebrows. I rolled my eyes and yelled, "Go!"
James took possession of the Quaffle, already on his way to opposite hoop. The Bludger came his way and I dove down to hit it away from him.
My bat made contact with the Bludger, sending it in Sirius's direction. He dodged it and made a steep dive towards the Snitch.
I flew to protect another teammate, the Bludger moving at them. I hit it again in Sirius's direction, and he dodged it again.
