You stared around your room, looking for inspiration for your current painting. Letting out a growl of frustration at the lack of inspiration, you set the paint pallet down, walked over to your bed, and threw yourself on the bed. Feeling yourself sink into your pillow and blankets, you cursed yourself for not finding your soulmate yet. Being an artist, you hated the fact that you couldn't see colors.
You longed to see the rich colors that the world had to offer. You wished to see the colors that your friends saw. You wished to feel the warmth of yellow, the eye catching aspect of red, the richness of purple, the deep mystery of blue, the comfort of green, and the happiness of orange.
You longed to feel the emotions that only colors could give, the feeling of joy as your paint brush created worlds other than your own. As the grays, blacks, and whites swirled together to create beautiful lands that was not of your own world. Lands that you wished you could visit with your soulmate. You wished to dance among the stars with the one your destined with, to have a picnic next to the glowing river of color, to watch as the two moons stood elegantly in the night sky. You wanted to escape to the worlds of your paintings, but you couldn't. You lived on Earth, no glowing rivers, no dancing on the stars, and there wasn't two moons.
There was no magic, there was nothing special about Earth. All you did on Earth was search for your soulmate, and when you found them, you were to live your life with them. You were to have your own happily ever after, almost every little kids dream. To meet the one that fate choses you to love.
Although you wanted to see all the colors in the world, you weren't rushing to find your partner. Sure it would be amazing to see all the colors, but there was over 7 billion people on the planet, and you weren't about to go on a wild goose chase to search for someone you might never find.
After all, there was a few unlucky souls who don't have a soulmate. Who knows, you could be one of those unlucky few. So your not too worried about going out and spending your entire life searching for someone who might not even exist. Yeah, sure that would fucking suck, but there really wasn't anything you could do about fate screwing you over. After all it wouldn't be the first time that fate decided to fuck up your life.
You sighed as you remembered the fact that you have to transfer schools. Your first day would be in two weeks, and you were despising the idea of having to socialize with new people. You missed your old friends, and you didn't want to have to make new ones. You understood why you had to move though. Your dad was having an affair with the principals wife, and cheating on your mother. After the scandal you were the laughing stock of the school. Students, teachers, and even the principal decided to make your life a living hell.
You were grateful for the friends you had, and how they still didn't leave your side through the torment of your peers, even if it meant dragging them into the cross fire. Grabbing your pillow and curling up into a ball, holding it close, you start to cry. Fate really did want to mess with your life, and make you miserable. Yet you had to be positive, you had to be strong for your mom. After the incident with your father, your mom divorced him, and it left her a shell of what she used to be. You had to stay strong, and give her hope.
Wiping the tears off your face, you got up and went back to your unfinished painting. You needed something to keep you distracted from the abyss that is your life.
