T H I R T Y- S E V E N

„So are you in?", I looked at Max with an imploring look in my eyes. For the past 2 hours, Brad and I had been explaining to him why we thought Alessandro still was alive and what we could do to locate him.

„Guys, I get your point, but I've known Ale. I have known him well", he looked me straight in the eye.

„I don't think he is out there anymore, Yas. I'm sorry."

My heart dropped. I looked to the floor, his words still roaring in my mind. But the worst part was that he could be right. He indeed could be. But I couldn't let him stop me. What if he was still out there and we didn't try? I couldn't live with this.
I tried not to imagine these scenarios and just stormed out of Max's room not caring if Brad was behind me or not.

"Yasmine", Brad yelled behind me, but I continued jogging to my car, started the engine, and drove off.

There was only one person left that could help me. Someone I usually wouldn't ask for help. Someone I haven't seen for a long time, but according to his sisters flamboyant insta story involving several champagne bottles and three handsome men, he should be residing in the Four Elements hotel 57 E 57th St. He always kept his sister close, so he must be in the room across of hers. I knew my stalker talents would help me out one day.

I parked the car in front of the hotel. It was 3 pm. The sun was almost setting down at this point. I was staring at the big entrance sliding door with its huge flower-like canopy. He must walk out there any second. I drove a bit closer to get a better look since a bunch of staff members of the hotel seemed to be rushing inside. A black Rolls Royce pulled up in front of the door. The doors swung open and a large number of men in suits rushed out-bodyguards. I could make out the head of a woman in a hijab and some sort of sheik next to her. Suddenly a bunch of paparazzi rushed out of the surroundings and rushed to take pictures of the probably famous couple. I had a hard time keeping my eye on the entrance when I in the middle of all the chaos saw him. He sneaked out of the door and if it wasn't for me having focused on the entrance door, I probably would have missed his unremarkable exit.

Within seconds I unbuckled my belt and rushed out of my black G-Wagon, which luckily was parked in a quiet secluded area, where no one would tow it off. As quickly as I could run in 4 inch Louboutins I hastened behind him. He walked towards the main shopping street into the big crowd. Fuck. I ran even faster and almost reached him when he walked across a crosswalk, but just as I reached it the lights turned red. Damn it! I followed him with my eyes. He was headed towards central park. Several seconds later when the lights turned red I decided to talk my shoes off and applied what useless sports experience I had left from 8 grade: I started sprinting like a mad man. I was navigating my way through the masses of people while keeping my eyes on the target like a hungry animal with its prey. Just as he was about a meter in the park I started slowing down, at least tried to make myself more presentable by straightening my skirt and hair, and then walked towards him. He now was sitting on a bench wearing a tailored suit per usual. He didn't seem to notice me when I came up behind him and out of breath managed to say his name: "Imran."

He jumped up and took in a ninja stance: "What the.. Yasmine! Why did you have to prey on me like that?!", he replied embarrassed and began adjusting his stance.

"I ran from your hotel till here through a mass of people", I held the edge of the bench for support. "But it doesn't matter now that I've found you. I need your help. I tried finding the others and only ended up finding Max, but he isn't in a condition to help right now and I wouldn't want to endanger Brad as much as I love him."

"But.. why would you? After the last time we saw each other I thought you would never want to see me again?"

"You are right. I was quite infuriated by the fact you just left us afternoon. I still am waiting for your explanation, but since I saw someone with your built running from the restaurant seemingly chasing someone, I assume you were on our side. I just want to know what was between you and Ale."

His surprised look soon turned into a weak grin:

"You're right. I was chasing someone. The person, who started attacking you all in the first place. Let's say I know Alessandro. From where doesn't matter right now. I assume you are hoping to find him. I've heard what happened. I will help you."

Something about the way he said that didn't sit right with me, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I decided to push that feeling aside and worked with what I had and that at the moment was Imran. What i want didn't matter right now.

"Ok, so then let's go to the Chai Wallah there. Let's discuss our plan over a cuppa chai."

(chai wallah as in tea shop lol not the green eyed dude 👁 👁)
