T H I R T Y - N I N E

I walked down the hallway. The wind hit my face and disheveled my curly hair as I traced the cool marble railing of the staircase.
I was lost in the midst of the big university building. Hearty beechwood  shelves, marble floors and stairs and busts of people, who have been gone for a long time now.
I was wearing a flowy white dress with bell sleeves. Slowly I inhaled the distinct smell of old books. I was wearing  no make up and felt like the happiest girl alive. Something was missing.

Suddenly the big wood carved wood doors swung open and masses of people stormed out disturbing my peace. I felt lost and let the crowd lead me. I closed my eyes and was surprised that I didn't go under in the overbearing crowd of students. My body swung wherever the mass guided my, left to right. I slowly opened my eyes. The smell of wisdom and books fainted and was replaced by something more familiar.

There it was.

A pair of eyes piercing through me from the staircase underneath. I wanted to walk towards him, but something kept pulling me upstairs. I tried fighting it, but the force was too strong. I looked at him. Untouched by the crowd he stood there. People were hurrying next to him, but he didn't even seem to notice, nor did it disturb him. He only had eyes for me and me only. He looked at me with such an intensity. His eyes where full of hope and adoration. I kept looking at him as the invisible force pushed me upstairs. His head followed me. He put his hand on the railing and tried following me, but it seemed as if he feet were rooted into the ground. A feeling of desperation filled.
His eyes were full of pain, when I finally reached the top of the staircase. I tried pulling myself out of the invisible grip, but couldn't. He reached out his hand for me. I tried touching him. Suddenly the force let go of me and I ran down the stair case, right into his welcoming arms. Once I was standing in front of him, I paused and looked into his eyes. The little crow feet that built around his eyes whenever he saw me appeared.

My heart skipped a beat. I slung my arms around his broad neck and let my head sink into his chest. Warmth overcame me. I finally could rest. I felt him slowly lift my head up and make me stare into his eyes. He smirked and came closer. I closed my eyes.

„Yasmine soniye, wake up. We need to leave immediately."

I sighed. Suddenly someone grabbed me.
