Tony's POV

Time practically stands still after Adam shouts at me and Mike is walking towards me. My heart starts beating faster, and my breathing gets more rapid, and the sound of Mike's footsteps approaching me keep getting louder and louder until it sounds like they're literally inside my head.
I want to run, but I know I can't. Even if I wasn't frozen in my panicked state enough to run past Mike, Johnny and Adam would easily catch me anyway.

"Hey, listen to me." Mike starts, I mentally prepare myself for what's going to happen. It's okay, it's nothing that hasn't happened before, it'll be over in a minute and you can go home, I tell myself.

"This is totally unfair" he practically whispers. I'm confused. He has a gentle tone to his voice, and he hasn't punched me yet. The other 2 are sat quite far away from us, close enough to see but not quite close enough to hear.
"I don't want to be mean to you just as much as you don't want to receive it. I'm sorry, okay? And I'm sorry about Adam too. It needs to stop. I'll make sure it'll stop." he mutters quietly. What's going on? So he's not going to do anything to me?
"Adam told me to tell you to get out, so in a second just leave. And look sad or something, he can't know about what I've just said to you."
And with that, Mike punches the locker next to him, which I guess was for dramatic affect since he receives clapping and a 'yes Mike!' from Adam.
I stand in my spot for a few more seconds, shocked beyond belief of what had just happened. I realise that it was my queue to leave, so I quickly shut my locker and put my head down again, speed walking to the exit and carefully making sure I don't make eye contact with Adam.
