Dominique's Pov
I just placed Ashton's yogurt parfait in the fridge and went in search of a piece of paper and pen. I wrote Ashton a quick message letting him know I was running for his medicine but he should make himself at home. I ended the note with a heart and signed my name. I placed the note on the coffee table and slipped my shoes on as I left the apartment. I rode the elevator down to the garage and unlocked my car. I made a quick stop at the pharmacy and paid for Ashton's medicine. I listened to the instructions careful even though it was just pain medicine. I was waiting in line at Dunkin' when my phone began to ring.
"Hello?" I said without checking the I.D.
"Dominique, what the fuck?!" Finn yelled from the other end of the phone.
"You're yelling why?" I asked.
"You shut your phone off you asshole! I was calling you all night and than Jake calls you and you're rude to him?"
I set my phone down in the seat next to me as I ordered to large sweet teas and moved up in line.
"Look Finn, you pissed me off. You were out of line and quite frankly I'm not sure if you're ever been my friend after the things you said. I may be a lot of things but an abuser is not one of them." I said doing my best to not become upset.
I handed my card over to the man behind the window. He told me my total before ringing my card up and handing me my drinks along with my receipt. I placed my straw into my drink and took a sip before picking my phone back up.
"I just don't understand it's like you aren't listening to me at all. I call to apologize to you for not coming off the right way on the phone. I didn't mean to accuse you of abusing anyone I just meant you come off very strong. Ashton is to delicate for any of your rough and tough attitude which is the only thing I've seen for years." Finn said continuing to ramble on.
"I'm busy worrying about Ashton right now unless you think I'm incapable of that as well?" I asked sarcastically.
"Dominique you know I have full trust in you to physically care for a sub."
"Glad to receive your approval. Goodbye."
I took the phone away from my ear hitting the end button. I just couldn't believe Finn and Jake were acting like this. I was very capable of caring for Ashton and I didn't need their approval. Finn was the one who caused the most panic in Ashton. I focused on getting home and parking my car. I rode the elevator up to my apartment and unlocked the door. I smiled as I saw Ashton munching away at the fruit parfait on the couch. Catfish was playing on the tv but Ashton's focus was on me. His body was tense as if he was afraid of my reaction.
"How's your breakfast?" I asked slipping inside and taking my shoes off.
"Very good sir, thank you." He whispered.
"After you finish I have your medicine to take. I didn't want to have you wait to long and have your arm hurt."
I didn't know what Ashton was feeling about this situation so I didn't know where to go. I wanted to join him on the couch but I was afraid my presence would upset him.
"Sir?"
"Yes?"
"Did I make sir Finn angry? I listened to him just like you said. I didn't mean to make him upset with me I tried to be good."
As Ashton spoke he began to tremble and tears ran down his face. I quickly rushed to his non injured side and wrapped him in my arms. He tensed at first but then I felt a tug on my shirt.
"No baby, it's not your fault. My little brother tends to forget he is in fact my younger brother. I don't take orders well from people and Finn knows this. He is not angry at you, he's angry at me."
"Because of me?" Ashton mumbled through tears.
"Oh honey, it's hard to explain. We need to sit down and have a serious conversation for you to understand. There is no rush though, whenever you are ready I am here. Until then don't worry about Finn."
I began playing with Ashton's hair hoping to calm him down. His breathing eventually evened out as his focus was back on Nev and Max. We stayed like this for awhile until I needed to go to the bathroom. I stood up slowly not wanting to disrupt Ashton.
"Sir?" He questioned quickly.
"I just need to pee." I said with a laugh.
A small blush appeared on Ashton's face as he turned back towards the tv. I made my way to the bathroom and decided to check my phone. I had no texts from Finn or Jake to which I was surprised. I sighed and started typing a message to Finn.
*Text message to Finn*
"I realize you may be worried but questioning my ability to care for Ashton is not okay with me. I have never questioned your ability to care for Jake and would never think about doing so. I do not want to fight as you are my little brother. You know my habits and how I feel about certain aspects of my life*I hit send and shoved my phone back into my pocket. I did not want to fight with Finn as he was pretty much the only person I spoke to. I was not a people person and never had been.
"Sir?"
I came back into the living room but Ashton was not on the couch. He was standing in front of the fridge with the doors open.
"Can I drink this?"
"Of course honey, you can have anything in my house." I said taking the lemonade from the fridge and pouring him a cup.
Ashton blushed as he took the cup and took a sip.
"You don't have to ask just take whatever you want."
"Sir, I have no money to pay you back."
"Don't worry about money Ashton. I'm not asking you to stay here in exchange for payment. I can't really explain it but I like to be with you and would like you to stay. I will not force you as you are your own person and can make your own choices."
Ashton had trouble meeting my eyes but nodded his head slightly.
"Sir when can we talk?"
"I don't want you to feel rushed or pressured in anyway Ashton. Maybe we should talk after you have a chance for your arm to heal. I don't want you to feel like you need to leave if our conversation doesn't settle well with you." I said gently as I didn't want to scare him.
"Sir?" Ashton asked bringing his hand to his injured arm to rub it.
"Yes?"
"Are you, uh, you know a sadist?" As Ashton spoke his gaze fell to his feet.
