Taking the long way home

As soon as I walked out of the school doors it started pouring with rain. Great. I was about to leave school when I heard someone calling my name. I turned around and saw Charlie. I stopped walking and he ran up to me. He pulled out an umbrella from his bag an put it over me. "Dude you going to get wet if you don't cover yourself with the umbrella. Then again I don't want to get wet either."

"That's what she said" He replied.

I was confused for a second and just as I was going to ask what I realized it was an innuendo.  Then I playfully punched his arm and while laughing  I exclaimed "You have such a dirty mind! Get your mind out of the gutter!"

"You call it a dirty mind I call it a sexy imagination. " He replied with a wink.

He just winked at me that's new. I guess he is being more flirty now. He does it in such an adorable way. How did I not go after this guy before? Oh right, I remember now.

As we walked he asked me about my day. The we decided we are taking the long way home.  We were having a great time talking that when we got to my house we didn't even realize.  Once we got to the door, I invited him in and said that we could just wait till my brother was home and he could drive Charlie home as he lived twenty minutes away and the rain was only getting heavier.  No matter what he said I wouldn't take no for an answer.

I made us both a hot chocolate. Afterwards we both sat on the couch just talking. When we got to my house it was quarter past four- because we took the long way home our walk was fifteen minutes longer. Time flew by as we were talking  my brother (Drew) came home at quarter to five.

I introduced the two and asked my brother to drop Charlie home. He agreed but on one condition. He would drop him off home if I didn't come along and he was aloud to question Charlie. Instantly I knew he would question Charlie about our relationship status and then threaten him about if he hurts me. He is so protective. That can benefit me sometimes but most of the time it's just really annoying, one of the annoying times is when he questions a boyfriend it's only happen once before -that was with he who shall not be named and I don't mean Voldemort.

I told Charlie what to expect and then they were on their way. I bet it will be a long ride for Charlie. I wonder what Drew will think of him.

Charlie's POV

Lexi told me her brother is going to question me in the car. Mainly about our relationship status. What do I say I would want Lexi to be my girlfriend it's just she is fresh out of a relationship with an a**hole. I'll have to word that differently.  I want to make a good impression. 

We got into the car which was Maserati  Quattroporte S. "Nice car man. Is it a Maserati  Quattroporte S?" I asked. I knew it was but I figured if he has a nice car he must be interested in cars. Therefore, this will be a good conversation starter.

"Thanks. Yes it is I worked two jobs when I was in school to get this"
 
"That must have been tough with school to deal with as well."

"It was, but it  was worth it. Anyway I'm sure my sister told you I would like to ask you a few questions. " Drew said.

"Yeah she mentioned it."

"You want to date my sister. Right?"

"Well yes. We have been friends for a while and she is a really cool girl. She's different to all the other girls." I responded.

Just then he parked and I realized we got to my house. He looked at me for a second and then told me how no guy would ever be good enough for his sister. I was about to loose hope of him supporting me and Lexi when he told me about Brad. He told me what he did and if Lexi didn't stop him he would have gone to Brad's house knocked him out. I was a little worried by this point.

What Drew said next made me feel less worried though.  He told me he never liked Brad, he had a bad feeling about him. Then he told me I seem like a good guy but he will be watching me. I have to admit what he said next had me worried again.

"If I'm wrong about you and you hurt Alexis, I will knock you out. No matter how much Lexi tries to stop me so you better not hurt her." Drew warned me.
I nodded and then asked "How'd you know where I live?".
"Lexi told me. " He replied.

Despite the warning I went into my house smiling.  Why?  Because I knew I had a chance with a really cool girl.
