"Tae, you've been in the bathroom for ages, are you okay?"

Tae could hear Jungkook, he was sat on the bathroom floor with his back against the door, his head resting on the knees he was hugging. He hadn't planned on being in there as long as he had but as he was about to leave it had hit him like a sledgehammer that Jungkook needed to go and suddenly he couldn't face it.

He'd had the most amazing day and night, he should probably be exhausted from all the sex but instead he just had a hunger to have it more. Jungkook was like a caged animal, released into the wild, he was relentless and acting like he hadn't had sex in 6 years. He wanted to do everything and anything, as long as it was with Tae, so he kept saying and that was another realisation for Tae, that no matter how much he felt desired and wanted by Kai, it wasn't reciprocated to the same degree.

"Tae, please... you need to come out."

Jungkook sounded defeated as he sat with his back against the wall opposite the bathroom door. He knew that Tae was hiding and he knew why, he had considered barricading himself in and letting Keyho think he'd been kidnapped or something but he knew he needed to do things right so that his relationship with Tae had a solid foundation, even though he knew there would be an element of deceit, to allow them to be together.

The door opened slowly and Jungkook stood up quickly, taking the 2 steps forward so he was in the doorway. His heart shattered into atom sized pieces when he saw Tae's face and knew he'd been crying.

"I...I...I'm sorry...I" Tae sniffled as Jungkook pulled him into his arms.

"Sssssshhhhh, it's okay, I know... God, I know." he wiped the tears from his face and held him like he was the rarest diamond.

"I can't... I... I can't say it."

"Me either. How about we don't say it? Remember that handshake we used to have?"

"The one that Jin said was gay?"

"Yes, that one, we know he was just jealous because he didn't have a special handshake with Namjoon." a giggle escaped both of them as Tae wiped the snot from his face.

"What about it? Please don't expect me to remember it."

"You don't need to... because I do. I couldn't speak your name or talk about us and 'us' was locked away in my head. The hoodie was a physical reminder and every now and again I would do our handshake with myself. It kept you alive for me, bringing you into my present."

"If I wasn't so emotional, I'd tell you how cheesy that sounds."

"I thought we could do that instead of... you know? We always did it in happy times to greet each other or when we were being 'us' so it doesn't mean goo... you know... it is a symbol of you and I and what we have."

"I love that... and I love you... so much it hurts."

"I feel the same, Tae. Everything you feel is one hundred percent reciprocated. I even considered faking my kidnapping so I can stay here."

Tae smiled "You don't need to fake it... I could actually kidnap you?"

They had talked themselves into a happier place even though packing his bag with Tae attached to his back had been slightly challenging. Walking to the front door had felt like 'the green mile' but they did it hand in hand and sought an element of comfort in the fact that Jungkook didn't want to leave and Tae didn't want him to go.

The kiss had gone on a bit longer than expected but finally they had disconnected from each other and with heavy hearts, played out their special handshake and arranged to meet at their special place in Jungkook's lunch break tomorrow.
