The Old Lady

Tae sighed and boiled the kettle, even though he thought he might need something stronger as he looked at his phone on the worktop. This would be the first time that he would be having a proper conversation with Kai since Jungkook came back into his life and he knew he couldn't avoid him forever.

He wondered how Jungkook had managed to slip into a different persona and considered that he might need to do the same in order to get through this call, let alone once Kai returned to America. His phone ringing caused him to jump out of his skin and he checked the time, his nerves kicking in once he realised it would be Kai. He picked up his phone and answered without anymore thought, putting the phone to his ear and trudging towards the sofa with his tea.

"Hey."

"Tae? Why is it dark? I can't see you."

Shit! Tae hadn't checked... video call... of course it was!

"Sorry!" he said, moving the phone and smiling at the beaming face staring back at him.

"Hi baby, fuck, I've missed you."

"You've been in the sun, your nose is red."

"It was warm today. I thought I'd covered my face in sun block but obviously not." Kai giggled, sitting in his hotel room.

"You need to be careful. You've already had that mole scare once."

"I know. I should be more careful. You look so good. Are you feeling better?"

Tae had to think quickly because he had forgotten about being ill "Oh yeah. That fever knocked me out for a bit but I'm okay. Back to work tomorrow. What have you been up to this week?"

"Mainly missing you. I can't wait to come home, babe. Not long now, the trip has been cut short because of some political stuff so we aren't covering one of the events."

"That's a shame, all the experience is great huh?"

"Yeah but I've had enough now. I miss you. I never want to be away this long again."

"It's your career, it's important."

"I know but you're my boyfriend and I'm not so sure I want to be in a part time relationship because of a job."

"You'll feel differently once you're back in the office and Michelle and Jack are getting on your case."

"They'll be even worse now that I got picked for this and they didn't."

"See? I saw Jack last week, he was telling me about a new tattoo."

Kai rolled his eyes "That guy moans about having no money then gets inked."

"That's probably why he doesn't have any money."

"Has everyone been looking after you, for me?"

"I'm not a child, K" Tae snapped.

"I didn't mean it like that. I meant with being injured and ill."

"They've been great. You know what Bee is like. Can't get him out of here some days."

"Well he will have to keep away when I'm back, I can't wait to get my hands on you. Just looking at you now is making me hard. Even the pictures and videos on my phone don't do you justice, Tae."

Detracting conversation was only going to last so long and Tae knew this was going to be difficult "You have too many embarrassing pictures and videos of me."

"That video of you sucking me off isn't embarrassing and I can't wait to feel the real thing."

"I can't believe you still have that."
