Chapter Twenty Five

Amy covered her mouth as they heard gunshots. Sam hugged her close as JJ peeked into the front entry.

"He's okay," JJ whispered. They went to the door and saw Lucas standing over his father with the gun pointed at him.

"What the?" Sam asked.

"Lucas?" JJ asked.

"He came to kill Amy," Lucas said.

"What!" Amy said.

"She deserves to die," Daniel said.

"Baby, call my mom," Lucas said. She went to make the call. Lucas held the gun to his father.

"Lucas, can I finish him?" Sam asked.

"No me," JJ said.

"How about me," Jack said. Jack and Rachel came to the door.

"Jack," Daniel said.

"Lucas, what did he do this time?" Jack asked.

"He came to kill your daughter, says she deserves to die, which by killing her, he would be killing his grandchildren," Lucas said.

"They probably aren't yours," Daniel said.

"She's nine weeks pregnant, Daniel, she's only been with Lucas in the weeks before the babies were conceived," Jack said.

"Carla is on her way with her gun," Amy said.

"Oh god," Daniel said.

"I would say goodbye now, Daniel," Rachel said.

"Why do you want my daughter dead?" Jack asked.

"She took my son away!" Daniel said.

"Then why draw up the fake marriage papers?" Amy asked.

"You said I needed a queen and I found one and now you want her gone so you could have me back, why," Lucas said.

"I made a mistake!" Daniel said.

"The only mistake you made was having me as your son, you are nothing to me!" Lucas said.

"And me," Carla said.

"Carla please," Daniel said.

"Goodbye Daniel," Carla said. She raised her gun and shot him between the eyes. Lucas pulled Amy close and held her to him as she cried. Carla stood there over the body of her husband.

"Call the cleaners," Carla said. Rachel called Greg and told him what happened and a few minutes later the cleaners showed up.

"Mom?" Lucas asked.

"I'm okay honey," Carla said.

"That man was not the father I knew," Lucas said.

"Lucas," Kevin said.

"Kev?" Lucas asked.

"Greg told me what happened, I did some digging into your father's past, he had a twin brother that was given up at birth, your grandparents couldn't afford both of them so they had to give one up," Kevin said.

"What exactly are you saying?" Jack asked.

"That's Daniel's twin," Kevin said.

"Why did he want Amy dead?" Lucas asked.

"Because he also had an affair with her mother, he probably thought she would remember it," Kevin said.

"I only saw her in bed with Nick and Jamie's dad, I never saw her with him," Amy said.

"He probably got paranoid and thought you did," Kevin said.

"So where's my husband?" Carla asked.

"I'm right here, honey," Daniel said.

"Oh Daniel!" Carla said. She hugged him. He held her close.

"Dad?" Lucas asked.

"Lucas my boy!" Daniel said.

"Where have you been?" Lucas asked.

"In the basement of the club, the part where no one goes," Daniel said.

"I heard a noise when I went down there and I found him," Kevin said.

"Dad, how long were you down there?" Lucas asked.

"What is today?" Daniel asked.

"April 18th," Lucas said.

"Oh god, nine weeks," Daniel said.

"Oh god," Carla said.

"Honey," Daniel said.

"You mean I've been sleeping with this asshole for nine weeks!" Carla said.

"Mom, you didn't know," Lucas said.

"I should have known it wasn't him, there was no way to know he wasn't you, it was like he knew your life," Carla said.

"Honey, I love you, you did not know, you couldn't have known it wasn't me if he knew my life, he must have been planning this for months, watching us, finding out everything, he could have came into contact with any of us," Daniel said.

"Did you know the marriage papers were fake?" Amy asked.

"Oh god, years, he's been planning for years!" Daniel said.

"You didn't know?" Carla asked.

"I thought you guys had a quickie wedding and wanted a family wedding," Daniel said.

"So you didn't meet with me to set up the marriage," Jack said.

"No Jack, I didn't, the men told me that we had new guys from another mafia family because the king of the family wanted out and had no heirs old enough, I never questioned it," Daniel said.

"Oh Dad," Lucas said.

"If he's been planning this for years, what if he's Lucas's father?" Carla asked.

"Son?" Daniel asked.

"Let's go," Lucas said. They left to go to the hospital. Amy hugged Carla as she cried.

"I can't believe this," Carla said.

"He loves you, Carla, this is not your fault," Jack said. They watched the body being taken away. They went inside and sat in the living room.

"There was no way of knowing about who he was, he fooled us all," Rachel said.

"I know, how can I look at Daniel after everything," Carla said.

"With your heart, do you love Daniel?" Amy asked.

"Oh god yes," Carla said.

"Then listen with your heart," Amy said.

"Thank you honey," Carla said. They all sat there waiting for them to come back with the results.
