𝑈𝑛𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑀𝑎𝑡𝑐ℎ- 𝙱𝚢𝚊𝚔𝚞𝚢𝚊 x reader

Back to School

(Minor spoilers for DR 2. Also, this one's written more from personal experience and based off of what's happening with going back to school)

It was the first day back at high school. The only problem being, the past year, the entire country had been under quarantine. There had been a recent virus spreading throughout the world known as the Despair Disease. The virus is and was transmitted originally through tiny insects and bugs, and it spread to humans when an experiment went wrong on Jabberwock island.
(Pretend that there's no one trapped on the island)

Anyway, going back to school, you're required to wear masks and keep distance from the others. You and Byakuya had been pretty good friends the year before. He walked you home everyday and you two had most of your classes together. You only lost contact after the schools were shut down and moved online. So going back to school now, you were nervous that he wouldn't talk to you or that he forgot you completely.

You stood at the gates of the school watching kids get screened for their temperature and obviously the virus. You were up next and as soon as you passed through, you saw him. He looked up and met your eyes. You had been best friends, but you couldn't help but notice that you had feelings for him. The past months had been hell without him and you realized how much you got each other through school. Snapping you back to reality, he called your name for you to come over to where he was. As you were about to reach him, a teacher stepped in front of you.

"6 feet away at all times! You know the rules"

"Yea yea,"

You walked to a spot six feet away from Byakuya and started up a conversation.

"Hey! Umm.... how was your summer?" You asked awkwardly,

"It was... different to say the least. You?"

"It was ok, I didn't really do much, even after things opened back up a little bit."

"Understandable, I'm just happy to finally be away from my poor excuses for a parent." He said relieved. Before you could respond, the bell rang. Unfortunately, you didn't know if Byakuya was in any of your classes, but he looked to be going the same way as you. You mentally cheered and kept walking. As it turns out, he was in over half over your classes. At the end of the day, all the students were separated based on how they were getting home. As soon as you and Byakuya were out, you took off your masks to get some fresh air for the first time in the whole day.

"I can't believe we have practically all our classes together!" You started, "I mean that's like fanfic material right there,"

"What are you trying to say?" He said with a smirk,

"Nothing, just thought that was funny. What are you trying to say??"

"I'm trying to say that I think we are in our own fanfiction. And the two characters end up together in the end." He turned towards you, making you stop in your tracks. "And I've been waiting all day to do this," He leaned in and kissed you softly. You quickly kissed back and continued for at least a minute more.

"And I've been waiting the whole summer," You replied. He pulled you back in and eventually you made it back home, thinking about what was to come.

One week later you find out you have the despair disease and you get a really high fever and go on a killing spree :) The End.
