𝑈𝑛𝑙𝑖𝑘𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑀𝑎𝑡𝑐ℎ- 𝙱𝚢𝚊𝚔𝚞𝚢𝚊 x reader

(a.u.m) :6: Facade?

The next morning was full of surprises. First, when I went to have coffee with Makoto, I saw Byakuya about to walk in, but turned around when he saw me. Second, I got a text from my friends back home saying they were coming to Hope's Peak for the second half of the first semester.

Ishi- Hey y/n! Hows everything going so far? So, I have great news, Mondo, Chihiro, and I were all excepted into Hope's peak for the second half of the semester!

Mondo- Yep, more school, yaaaay (sarcasm floats through the air visibly)

Y/n- Really? That's awesome! When are you guys coming?

Ishi- We were thinking next weekend.

Mondo- Next weekend

Ishi- Oh- sorry, i should've let you tell y/n that,

Mondo- No that was my fault, continue

Ishi- No really it's ok, go ahead

Mondo- No no, it's ok

I could practically feel the tomato red blush through the screen,

Chihiro- If they won't stop falling over each other, I'll say it. We heard that you were getting a little close with Togami, what's up with that?

Y/n- Oh that was nothing, it was fake actually

Mondo- wha?

Y/n- I'll tell you guys everything when you get here. We'll catch up over dinner or something

Ishi- Ok! Sounds great, We'll text at our approximate arrival!

Y/n- Ok, see you guys soon!

After that, I couldn't wait for the next weekend to come. You could say I was very excited to see my best friends.

----Time skip to the next day----

I woke up due to a call from Makoto, I groggily answered,

"Heeeeelo?"

"Y/n? Hi! I have a question,"

"Umm ok, shoot,"

"We were just hanging out yesterday right? It only hit me this morning that it might have been a date, I am sooo sorry if you thought it was"

"Wha- oh no, it's fine. I just wanted to catch up was all"

"Oh thank goodness, I didn't even mention that I recently met a really cute girl in the halls <3"

"Awww who?"

"kghygho"

"I'm sorry, what was that??"

"Kyoko..."

"OoooOOoOooO you two would work well together. I wish you the best of luck!"

"Thanks, we're going out to dinner this friday :)"

"Awww have fun"

"Thanks, bye"

"Baiiii"

Welp: Single again. Oh well, at least he's happy :) I decided to go for my (almost) daily walk, where I thought I might meet more people. As I was coming up on the bench that sides the path, I once again saw Togami. I started to walk faster in order to avoid conversation,

Togami- "It's like you wa-"

Y/n- "Save it" I quickly jogged by and ignored him completely, almost enough to ignore the fact that he sat back with his head in his hands; his book set to the side sloppily. I questioned it for a moment, but moved on. 

When I got back inside, I realized just how little sleep I had gotten lately. In spite of that, I ended up studying all night in the library. I was barely keeping my eyes open, but I couldn't truly fall asleep thinking about the world language test we had coming up. Oh yea, did I mention we have a mid-semester test coming up. Yea that's gonna happen. Anyway, it should be easy, but this was the first year I didn't stay on top of my foreign languages.

When I felt like I was finally losing it, I was startled by a voice behind me.

???- "Hey, you look like you need this more than me"

Y/n- "Wha- Togami?! Why the hell are you up this late?!" When I said it, I didn't realize how protective that sounded. In reality I was just scared by his sudden appearance; or was that all?

Byakuya- "Like I said, you need this coffee more than me. You were about to slam your head into the desk,"

Y/n- "Oh thank you- you didn't poison it did you?"

Byakuya- "Why would I do that?!"

Y/n- "I don't know. You just kinda seem like you would rather me dead, that's all."

Byakuya- "Hmm, I don't mean to come off that way. That would just be difficult to hide the evidence in a place like this. Then I would have to dispose of the body and get my hands dirty an-"

Y/n- "I get it, I get it"

Byakuya- "Why are you up this late anyway?"

Y/n- "Studying for the Language test, you?"

Byakuya- "I haven't been awake, I just was woken up by a loud noise coming from the library" I hadn't even looked down at what he was wearing, my eyes were too blurry. He was still in his pajama's, which were surprisingly "Peasanty" for him.

Y/n- "Well let's see, I fell out of my chair twice, probably banged against the desk in my sleep, but as far as I know, I don't snore."

Byakuya- "Whatever it was, it wasn't snoring. And thank goodness for that, because I don't think I can listen to that for the rest of my life" I could barely hear the last part. It was as if he didn't mean to let that slip out,

Y/n- "Wha?"

Byakuya- "N-nothing, I'll see you around, good luck with your studies" He quickly exited the library, leaving me with the most confused state I've ever been in. Did he just imply he's been thinking about the rest of his life with me, or did he just mean that me snoring would be annoying in general? But the way he said it... and he said see me around after he made it clear he hated me.... Maybe I'm reading too much into it. I should probably sleep, I'll save this coffee for another late night or early morning. After that I can't remember anything. I probably fell asleep right after he left, oops.

Byakuya's POV: 

As I was walking out after my slip up, I decided that maybe it wouldn't be so bad to keep being her "boyfriend". The way she looked when she was tiredly taking the coffee from my hands. I mean I guess it's like everyone says, "You two are perfect for each other" or "You're so much alike with your suits and books and personalities" 

Maybe we are just unlikely enough for it to work........
