Their burning Sun

Chapter 4:

I know I said Quil was in New Moon but pretend that he wasn't a wolf, just trying to stay friends with his friends. And that minor scene at lunch, just pretend he didn't hear that. or he didn't say anything

A week had passed and it was Saturday when Grayson was discharged from the hospital. He was given a special sling that had a grip for Grayon's hand to be constantly flexing and had to be put on by another person. His mother had dropped him off at home and made sure he was okay before returning back to work. It was two hours after his mother left, 11, that he got bored and was happy to hear his phone go off. He looked at the phone and smiled at the name of the message sender.

'Embry Call'

E- Do you wanna go on a hike with the guys? It'll be all of us and our friend Sam.

Grayson thought before texting a message back.

G- Sure. Pick me up?

Embry sent a message back that he would be there in five minutes making Grayson panic and shoot up to get dressed, still being his pajamas. He went in his closet and grabbed a pair of dark blue jeans, a grey t-shirt, a hoodie, and his vans, not having the right shoes since there were not many places to hike in Greece. He got his shirt and socks on before having a great struggle putting on his pants. When he finally got his pants on he realized he couldn't button his pants or put on anything else he blushed thinking of what he might have to ask when Jacob got to his house.

The knock of his front door made him turn beet red. He ran down his stairs and almost tripped since he was wearing socks on hardwood floors. He opened the door and was surprised to see Embry with Paul at his side. He blushed when he saw that they were in jean shorts, sneakers, and no shirt. He smiled and let them all in before speaking and rushing up the stairs, "I'll be right back. Give me five minutes!" He took off his socks and traded them for ankle socks before grabbing a pair of dark blue shorts and putting them on. He slid on his shoes before realizing he couldn't tie them. He cursed in Greek before grabbing his phone, wallet, and keys and walking downstairs.

Both teens stood up as he walked down the stairs and smiled and they watched as he tried not to let his shoes foal off his feet. Grayson smiled sheepishly and sighed, "Good news: I'm ready. Bad news: I need one of you to tie my shoes in the car." The teen chuckled and walked out of the house and waited for Grayson to lock his door before getting in the car, Paul driving while Embry got in the back with Grayson. Embry opened the door for Grayson, helping him in before getting in himself and buckling in. On the way to their destination, Embry propped Grayon's feet on his lap, tying his shoes before letting him sit properly.

It was about ten minutes when they got to a cabin in the house. They all got out and walked to the door and walked in. Grayson followed behind them, shy, and saw everyone, besides Jacob, and an older man. Maybe 2 or 3 years older than them. Everybody smiled and soon Grayson was being introduced to the older man, "Sam, this is our friend we've been telling you about. Grayson, this is Sam." Sam had a stoic face but smiled lightly and put his hand out, "I'm Sam Uley." Grayson smiled nervously and shook Sam's hand, "I'm Heliodoros Cirillo, but you can call me Grayson." Sam had a questioning look on his face but Grayson shook his head, "Don't think about it too much." Sam nodded and spoke to everyone. "Emily said she would make us lunch for when we come back but before we go, where's Jacob?" Quil spoke, "He's probably still sleeping." Everyone but Grayson and Sam groaned before Sam sighed and spoke again, "Alright. We can walk to his house and get him. If we go fast we can be back here by 1." Everyone nodded and started walking out the door. Grayson being pulled along by Paul.

It was a good 5 minutes before they got to Jacob's house, emerging from the woods. Grayson felt self-conscious being among the 4 shirtless men but walked nonetheless. It was like they knew what positions to get into, Jared and Paul next to Grayson, Sam next to Grayson with Embry next to him. It was right after they emerged from the woods that a girl walked up to them and started pushing and yelling at Sam. She pushed Sam back making Paul and Jared step forward, "What did you do? What did you do? Hey!" Sam put his hand out to stop Jared and Paul, "Easy!" The girl stepped back and yelled again, "He didn't want this!" Paul stepped forward and spoke through his teeth, "But we do. What did he do? What did he tell you?" Sam interrupted them and spoke calmly, "Both of you calm..." Bella yelled again, "Nothing! He told me nothing because he's scared of you!" This caused Jared and Paul to laugh. Bella seemed to get mad and punched Paul in the face.

Paul seemed to get mad and started shaking. Jared spoke with a chuckle, "Too late, now." Sam spoke to Bella through gritted teeth while trying to calm Paul down, "Bella, get back. Paul, calm down. Now." Paul seemed to shake more and more until he was no longer Paul. In his place was a silver wolf growling at Bella. Bella seemed to be a state of shock and started to walk backward. She tripped and fell on her butt, she started to crawl away when Jacob yelled, "Bella!" Bella looked up and yelled, "Run! Jake, run!" Jacob ignored her and phased into his wolf form. He growled at Paul before they attacked each other. They fought and rolled into the forest, Bella just watched as they rolled away and barely heard Sam, "Take Bella back to Emily's place." Embry and Jared nodded and turned to Bella, "Guess the wolf's out of the bag." Sam turned around and forgot entirely that Grayson was behind all of them the entire time, "Take Grayson too."

Embry seemed to have forgotten about his imprint as well and snapped around to find Grayson shaking. Embry sighed and walked to his imprint. He tried to touch him but Grayson stepped back in fear. Embry was hurt by that action but sighed and put his hands up, "I won't hurt you, Gray. I'll never hurt you." Grayson took a breath and allowed Embry to grab his right arm and lead him to Bella's pickup truck.

The drive was quick but neither Grayson nor Bella spoke. When they got there Jared got out quickly and Embry helped Grayson out of the bed of the truck. Bella spoke worried all of a sudden, "Hey, I think, we should go back and see if Jacob's okay." Jared spoke, "I hope Paul gets some teeth in him. Serve him right." Embry spoke from next to Grayson, after he was assured that Grayson could walk on his own, "No way. Jake's a natural. You see him phase on the fly? I gotta fiver says, Paul doesn't touch him." Grayson stuck close to him and stayed facing the door while Embry turned to speak to Bella, "Come on in, Bella. We won't bite." Jared smirked, "Speak for yourself." Embry smiled and then spoke seriously to both Grayson and Bella, "Oh, hey, about Emily... Sam's fiance...don't stare. It bugs him." Grayson nodded while Bella spoke, "Why would I stare?"

They entered the cabin and saw the back of Native women, "You guys hungry? Like I have to ask..." She set some muffins down on the table and turned back to the two newcomers. The young woman surprised both of the teens, her face being scarred on half of it. While Bella continued to stare, Grayson smiled slightly and stood by the table. "Who are they?" Embry sat down and pulled Grayson down next to him, "Bella Swan and Heliodoros Cirillo. Who else?" Grayson blushed at the use of his full name and spoke, "Grayson, please. Heliodoros sounds weird." Emily nodded and looked towards Bella, "So, you're the vampire girl." Bella nodded, "So, you're the wolf girl." Emily smiled, "Guess so. Well, I'm engaged to one." She turned to the table and saw that Embry and Jared were both reaching for another muffin after already having one, "Save some for your brothers. And the ladies first. Muffin?" Bella reached for the muffin, "Sure. Thanks." Emily smiled and looked to Grayson, "You don't want one?" Grayson shook his head and tried to smile, "I'm not really hungry." Emily nodded.

"Leave it to Jake up to find a way around Sam's gag order." Bella quickly spoke, "He didn't say anything to me." Embry grinned and glanced at Grayson before speaking, "That's a wolf thing. Alpha's orders get obeyed whether we want to or not." Grayson seemed to zone out while Bella nodded, "Alright, check it out! We can hear each other's thoughts." Jared slapped Embry's shoulder, making Grayson jump at the loud noise, "Will you just shut up? These are trade secrets. Damn it! This chick runs with vampires." Embry didn't seem to hear him, making sure Grayson was okay, only looking away when Grayson seemed to flinch away from him. Bella spoke to Jared, "I can't really run with vampires. Because... they're fast." Jared smirked, "Yeah? Oh, we are faster. Freaked out yet?" Bella shook her head, "You're not the first monsters, I met."

Sam appeared at that moment, scaring Grayson even more than he was, "Jake's right. You are good with the weird." He looked towards Grayson and smiled sadly, "Sorry." He hugged Emily and kissed the side of her face that was scarred. Jacob and Paul appeared, shoving and laughing. While Bella was happy to see Jacob okay, Grayson started to shake, not knowing what was actually happening. They spoke for a second before Paul came in and plopped down in the seat next to Grayson. Jacob led Bella somewhere before it was silent.
