It was 11 in the morning when the three shifters went to Grayson's house to take him to Emily's for lunch. They knocked and knocked until Embry smelled it, the foreign, sickly sweet smell. He growled and broke down the door, Jacob yelled, "Why the hell did you do that?!" Embry ran up the stairs, "There was a vampire here!" Paul and Jacob looked at each other before running after Embry.
When they reached Grayson's room, all they could smell was blood and the sickly sweet smell of a vampire, there was blood all over his bed. Paul snarled and ran out of the house before shifting and howling. An hour later the entire pack was fighting about where Grayson was before Jared yelled through the pack link. "I smell him!" Everyone went quiet and all took a deep breath, finally smelling Grayson. Paul, Jacob, and Embry wasted no time running towards him before they found him.
He was on the forest floor, covered in blood, his blood. Paul and Embry growled while Jacob whimpered, all reacting to the state their imprint was in. Sam shifted with Jared and put on shorts, rushing to him, checking to see if he was alive. "I hear his heart!" The three wolves shifted and dressed before Paul picked him up bridal style and took him to Sam's house while the rest followed and Sam called Sue.
When they reached the house Sue was already there talking to Emily, she saw the boy in Paul's arm and wasted no time, "What happened?" Paul set him down and growled, running out and shifting. Embry ran after him while Jacob spoke to Sue, "We found him after he was taken by a vampire, we just found him, covered in his blood." Jacob whined and gripped his hair, sitting and watching as Sue cleaned the wound on his neck. Sue saw the state Jacob was in and took Sam aside after she had finished fixing up Grayson, "It seems that the wound on his neck was made by a bite, as far as I know, he won't turn into a vampire since he's not writhing in pain or dying. It's possible they just fed on him, or the vampire that did this cannot produce venom. We're lucky that's all that happened to him." Sam nodded and thanked her before looking where Jacob was holding Grayson's head in his lap and Emily watching while Jared left to go find Paul and Embry.
Paul ran out of the house and phased following the smell of the vampire, he followed the scent and growled when the vampire jumped over the treaty line. Seeing that it was useless staying around, he growled and turned around, running to the house, only to run into Embry and Jared. He growled and ran back to the house, with the two wolves following close behind.
