•••Amelia•••"Tilt your head to the right slightly, hun," I spoke to my client as I look through my camera.
She's absolutely stunning, which makes sense because she needs new headshots for her modeling career. I've worked with many people in my city and lately, I've been getting lots of inspiring actors and models who need headshots done.
"Perfect," I whispered.
I've been so busy this month with shoots. We have been working our asses off because this seems to always be the busiest time besides the holidays. Luckily I give everyone including me, two weeks off at the beginning of August to get some rest and reboot our system because we've work straight up until this point.
Prince hasn't called or text me in days. Honestly, I expect something like this to happen but I didn't think it would happen so fast. After a few days past, I realize maybe he's just busy like me and I shouldn't even worry about it. But I can't help it because as much as I want to keep my distance and have worked at a slow pace, I want to speak to him every day. I missed Prince all these years and we are having this reconnection finally.
I'm back to thinking of him every day. I've spoken to my sister Angela about him coming back into my life and she's not necessarily happy but she took busy with her own family to worry about my problems.
"Okay, I think we got the shoots, Brianna," I said while moving back to see her smiling. "Come take a look." I waved her on.
The taller slender woman struts over to me and my camera. We both flip through and reviewed the photos. She picks her favorites as well.
"You are truly amazing, Amelia. Love these so much." She gushes and rubs my shoulder. Every time I hear that I always blush and I hear it a lot. "When will they be done?"
"I'll work on them soon as you leave. You were my last client of the day so I'll send them to you by Saturday." I told her while she grabs her things. "You can meet me at the front desk."
As she heads out, I turn off most of the flash lights and put a few of the props and chairs back to their original spots. I left out going up the front of the studio seeing my little sister walking around looking at the hang frames I have up for display.
I took care of my customer by getting my payment and sending her on her way before calling out my sister.
"Um Arielle, why are you here? I mean it's nice to see you but-"
She turns to me almost ready to cry, instantly I went in panic protective sister mode. "Arielle, what's wrong?"
My sister walks over to me with open arms and I hug with the look of confusion. Robyn comes out and gives a glance.
"What happened?" Robyn's mouths. I shrugged while dragging my sister along with me to my office.
Soon as we got to my office and I closed the door, she takes a seat in the chair and wipes her face. I stood in front of her leaning on my desk.
"Arielle, you are scaring me right now," I spoke in a shaky tone.
She looks up and sighs softly, "Melia, I'm so stupid. I literally hate myself."
"Now why are you saying that?"
"After all this time, I finally realize something," Arielle says while shaking her head. "Today I spend time with my old high school friends and all of them are in college. They are having the best time in their lives and they are actually doing big things."
I can already see where this heading. Something always told me that she would change her mind about school.
I crossed my arms and smiled, "You want to go to college don't you?"
