𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗹'𝘀 𝗣𝗢𝗩
With tears in my eyes and my heart skipping 10 beats at once, I picked up my phone with shaky hands to dial Grace's number. I was smiling so much that my jaw was starting to hurt, but that was okay.
I heard beeps coming from my phone as I got out of the car walking towards the entrance of the airport in a fast pace, almost running. After several beeps she finally picked up.
I felt the tears of joy now streaming down my face as I was bursting with excitement. "Have you read my letter yet?" I ask her.
"No Karl, I haven't. Should I?" She asks me. I nod, then noticing she couldn't see me. "Yes. Read it now." I say as I walked through the automatic doors. I looked around the room without spotting her.
After a few minutes with her still on the other end, I spot her sitting down on a chair, crying and sobbing as she held a hand over her mouth. I felt guilty but so very happy at the same time, because when she removed her hand, she was smiling. I smiled even wider at the sight of her.
"Hey, look up." I tell her through the phone, and so she did, while folding the piece of paper, putting it down in her pocket. "A little bit more to your left." I say, and right then and there, her eyes met mine in a totally different way than ever before. In a much more loving and beautiful way.
She stood up and we both started to literally run towards each other, and before I could comprehend anything else than that I was happier than ever before, she was in my arms, and I was in hers.
We stood there hugging tighter than ever. Her crying into my shoulder and me crying into hers, both for the same reason just felt so unreal, but at the same time so weirdly beautiful.
"I love you so much, Karl." She whispers as she continued to sob into my shoulder. Tears were streaming down my cheeks as those words hit home, much differently than before.
"I love you too, Grace." I say burring my face into her shoulder both to hide my smile and my blushing face. We pulled way from the embrace only seconds later. I cupped her cheek to lean in and kiss her, and that was when my lips met hers for the first time.
It felt surreal living in the moments that I've been dreaming of for so long. I smiled as we pulled away, we looked each other in the eyes, both having red and puffy eyes from crying so much, but then at the same time smiling so much our jaws were hurting.
Holy fuck, that really just happened."You wanna head home?" I ask her as I offer her my hand. She grabs it happily as she nods 'yes'. "Yes. No way I'm catching that flight. Fuck Ohio." She says which made me laugh.
We walked out of the airport hand in hand soon reaching the car with big smiles visible on both of our faces. I open up the car door for her and she gladly gets in. I close the door behind her and I then walk to the other side to sit down on the driver seat.
We drove home jamming out to some tunes while talking about what we were planning to do.

"I say you should live here." I suggest as we got into the front door. "I would love to. But how would that work out?" She asks me as she takes off her shoes, I do the same.
"We could sign you up at UNC and there you could finish your study in photography til you finish collage. Meanwhile. You can live here, with me." I suggest.
I wrap my arms around her waist as I hug her from behind, kissing her cheek. "That's the best idea I've ever heard." She giggles as she turns around to give me a peck on the lips.
"You wanna go upstairs and help me unpack my things that I was just packing down an hour ago?" She asks me. I nod with a chuckle before I carry her luggage upstairs before I place it on the bed to help her unpack her things.
