Chapter 7: A new Job

After Queen Kaia had whispered that in my ear, I looked at her with wide eyes.

"Go say your goodbyes my son." She said as she moved hair away from my face.

"Yes Queen Kaiabelle, I'm going to miss you my Queen." My eyes down cast.

"And I will miss you too my son, you have been a part of my family for all your life."

"Thank you Kaia. That means a great deal to me." I whispered 

"Of course, after the wedding you will call Johnny and I mom and dad? My parents grandma and grandpa? All of my brother and their wives aunt and uncle and the like?"

"Yes my Queen, I mean mom." It was nice having someone to call 'mom' again, since my own had passed away when I was young. 

And so Dylan walked over to his King to shake hands to say goodbye. His eyes looked sad as his face showed no emotion. Trying to be calm, cool, collected. Not just for himself, but for Alice.

"Alright son, try and stay strong. You know that your mother and I have to do this for a reason. I will explain it in time." The King spoke

"I understand Johnny... I mean dad."

"You will get the hang of it soon, I promise. Remember I was in the same situation with your grandparents when I was just a little younger than you."

"Yeah, I remember the stories, and I cant wait to be added to those stories." Dylan laughed

"Go say goodbye to your bride to be and your brothers." Johnny gently turned him around and used a light push to get him in the right direction.

"Of course."

After one last handshake with his father in law to be, Dylan walked to Mendel to shake his hand.

"See you soon brother. Can't wait for the wedding to happen." The younger light haired boy said

"Me as well brother. It shall be a grand event. "Dylan replied to Mendel. "Keep your eyes peeled for me?"

"Of course I will."

After the two brothers in law hugged, Dylan moved the few feet to Levi so that they may say their goodbyes.

"I'm sorry to see you go so soon after the engagement. Without a proper engagement party even." Levi joked with  his brother in law.

"Yeah, I agree with you on that." He replied.

"Dylan when you come back we will have an engagement party for you. I'll start planning it now."

"Thanks Levi, you don't have to do that, but I appreciate it." 

"Now go say goodbye to my sister." The Twin Prince looked over at the person his words were about.  

With sad eyes along with a heavy heart Dylan walked over to his fiance, embraced her tightly. Kissing her head.

"I love you Alice. I always have and I always will. Cross my heart and hope to die." His voice small

"I love you too Dylan. Always and forever, until the end of time and then some." 

Queen Kaia's POV

"Children, I ask that you return the castle now." with a wave of her hand, the children were back in their rooms and away from what was about to happen.
