Gundham's POV
I stood in front of my house, waiting for Kazuichi to pick me up. I had decided to invite him on a public outing to the local park as a part of the fourth trial for him to enter my inner circle. I had to admit, I was quite excited. He had already passed the first three trials with flying colors.
A large truck came up to my house. The window rolled down to reveal Kazuichi in the drivers seat.
He smiled, "Hey Gundham!"
"Hello Kazuichi," I smiled back, "May I get in?"
"Well, yeah. How else am I going to take you to the park?"
"I apologize, I just wished to be invited before coming in."
Kazuichi laughed, "What are you, a vampire?"
"I do believe myself comparable to such creatures," I replied as I went to the other side of the truck to get into the passenger's seat.
"You're funny, Gundham."
"Well, I am- Nevermind."
Kazuichi looked at my scarf, "Why are you wearing that? It's like, seventy degrees outside."
"Well, if you must know," I pulled my Devas out of my scarf and put them on my shoulder, "This is one of the reasons I have it with me. It is also the vessel through which I channel my magic."
"I see, the scarf's special to you," he smiled as one of my Devas climbed onto his shoulder.
"Let's get to the park before my Devas get restless," I said, bunching my scarf up to my face.
Kazuichi began to drive. "Sorry if the ride isn't smooth. I'm not the best driver, but I'm a lot better than others."
"It is completely fine, I will just hold on to my Devas in the event of a bump."
It took about ten minutes to get to the park. The Devas seemed to enjoy going for a ride. I hadn't taken them to the park for a few weeks now, so I assumed they would br overjoyed. Kazuichi seemed to enjoy the Devas being around. Of course he did, he had already passed the first trial a few days ago.
Kazuichi and I got out of the truck. The Devas climbed onto my shoulder to look at the beautiful foliage.
"So, do you wanna just walk around?" Kazuichi walked up beside me.
I thought of the perfect thing to do. "May I show you a place, Kazuichi?"
"Sure!" he smiled.
I grabbed Kazuichi's wrist and pulled him with me. I usually went to this park a lot, and knew a very lovely place to enjoy the company of someone or just be by yourself. I pulled him through some trees, and followed a narrow path I had made myself.
"Gundham, where are we going?!" Kazuichi's voice cracked.
"Just trust me, I know where I am going."
I stopped at a small place clear of leaves and bushes, "Here."
We looked out at the beautiful scenery. There were tall trees stretching out for a few dozen yards, and a small pond in front of us.
I sat down, put my Devas in my lap, and motioned for Kazuichi to sit down next to me.
Kazuichi sat down and looked at the scene in front of us, "How'd you find this place?"
"About two years ago, I was taking a walk when an abnormal amount of people were also walking. Their conversations were incredibly loud for some odd reason, so loud that I felt I needed to get away. I decided to go into the trees, and I found this place. I made a small path so I could come back. It's become a place where I come to calm down or show friends the beauty of nature."
"It's a really cool place, I'm glad you trust me enough to show it to me."
I could feel my face begin to turn pink, but I covered it up with my scarf.
We sat there together, not really saying anything. We just enjoyed the scenery and the presence of one another. Occasionally, a bird would fly by, and if I could spot it in time I would tell Kazuichi what kind of bird it was.
After a while, we spotted a bear taking a drink from the pond.
"Cool! A bear!" Kazuichi yelled a bit too loudly.
The bear turned it's attention towards us.
Kazuichi slowly turned his head towards me, "I shouldn't have done that."
"Oh, definitally, that was stupid."
The bear began to come towards us.
"Do we play dead?" Kazuichi slowly stood up.
"No, no, we just need to leave slowly and show them that we aren't a threat," I stood up and began to back into the path back to the main park area.
Kazuichi slowly backed away with me. Once we were far enough away, we sped up. We went through the final few trees to the main area.
Once we were there Kazuichi apologized, "I'm sorry, that was a really dumb thing to do."
"It was incredbily dumb, however, I accept your apology."
Kazuichi picked up some gravel fron the ground and put them in his hand. He shook them and whispered to himself, "Shaky Shaky."
"May I ask what you are doing?" I stared at Kazuichi's hands.
"Oh, I'll show you. Pick up some rocks."
"How many?"
"Just pick up a handful of rocks."
I picked up some rocks.
"Cup your hands, and" Kazuichi's eyes lit up as he shook the rocks in his hands, "Shaky Shaky."
I shook my rocks, "Shaky shaky. Shaky shaky shaky shaky."
"Pretty cool, right?"
I smiled as I shook my rocks, "Very."
That was quite the fun day. Kazuichi had again passed a trial with flying colors.
