Nurses office

(Y/n)'s POV

My eyes slowly start to open, as they open my my once blurry vision became clear. I saw a flickering light above me, the walls grey and my body warm.

I'm in a bed...

I scan my surroundings.

I'm in the nurses office

I hear voices coming from outside the door a male and female, most likely the nurse. The males voice sounded familiar.

"If that's what you think is best then I can't argue with you..." said the males voice.

"Thank you for you time" as I heard the male thank the women the door knob turned and the door opened. I was met with soft yet piercing brown eyes.

Coach?

When he saw I was awake and started to walk towards me. He stood next to my bed towering over my body, not intentionally but all I could do was blankly stair at the older man.

"I see you're awake, the rest of the team was here but since it was getting late I told them to go home" he said crossing his arms. I just nodded slightly.

"They were pretty worried about you..." he said giving me a side glance before looking out the window of the nurses office.

Why would they worried about me?

They barely know me...

I thought staring into my lap in slight confusion.

"So why didn't you tell anyone you had a cold?" Ukai said in a harsh yet caring voice, looking back towards me. I looked back up to him staring into his eyes.

"Sorry coach I didn't think it would be concern since I've had colds like this before and still have been about to practice and play just fine..." I said staring blankly up at him. He looked a bit annoyed at my statement, his eyebrows furrowed.

"Ok, so why didn't you go to the nurses office when you hit your head?" His voice began to get harsher and he face getting more and more annoyed.

"Well I didn't that would be a concern either coach" his eyes shot to me waiting for my next comment.

"I didn't want to burden you or the team with my injury and-"

"Just stop" I was cut off by ukai. His eyes looking angry now.

"I am your coach and as your coach it is my job to look after the teammates and make sure they are always at the best at all times. So for you to sit here and say that you didn't want to burden me with your injury is like say you don't trust me...and that pisses me off" he eyes brows start to furrow again. My eyes widen.

"I'm sorry coach I didn't mean to make you angry it won't happen again" I say. He looks at me with confusion once again.

"I'm not angry with you (y/n), you just need to know that you don't have to do everything on you own me and the rest of the team are here for you and we look after each other so" he said, his face softening as he stares at me features. His arms extends towards me.

What is he...

My thoughts were cut off by his hand softly stroking the top of my head, my eyes start to widen. I've never had this done to me before what does it mean. I look back up at ukai noticing his once angry features turning into a soft warm smile.

"I need you to start relying on me and the rest of the team from now on said still stroking my hair.

"Yes coach ukai I understand" I simply say still staring up into his eyes blankly before starting to notice a weird feeling coming from me.
