It felt like my long dreamt fantasy was coming true. Just being with him made me happy. We stopped to pick something from Yeong's car. It was one of the official cars used by the guards. He took out a package from the car's back seat. It was like a shopping bag, with the royal symbol on it. I didn't ask what it was thinking it might be confidential. I was still under the shock of him talking casually and being nice to me. I didn't want to ruin it.
Soon we reached the building where the Tae Eul was waiting. Just outside the room where Tae Eul was, he spoke up.
"Could you wait here for a moment? It wouldn't be a good sign if the guest saw you. His Majesty asked me to convey his message to his guest."
"Yeah...yeah....go ahead. I'll wait here." I stuttered in nervousness.
He nodded calmly and went inside the room. I could vaguely hear their conversation from outside.
"....His Majesty has other duties to attend to. So you'll be all your own now."
"It's totally my style....Tell him I said that. By the way can you lend me some money? I bought your King chicken and stuff in my world you know." I heard Tae Eul's voice.🌸
L O V E (inst.) - L Y N & H A N H A EAs I waited outside, I held his sunglasses in my hands and kept wiping them unconsciously. I was wondering how I forgot to return them while walking with him all the way to the building. He opened the door and came out. Before even closing the door he turned to his right and looked at me. I looked back at him, when a voice called from inside.
"Captain Jo? Is someone there?"
"No. No one." He replied to Tae Eul, turning back.
"What....Don't tell me Lee Go.....I mean His Majesty is still here..." She rushed toward the door saying so. By the time she reached the door, Yeong turned me around holding my shoulders to face the opposite side and spread one arm around my shoulder. In response, I stared at him sideways, taken aback. I instantly looked forward though, taking my gaze off him. When Tae Eul came out of the room, she only saw me from the back. My heart was pounding so hard, that I feared that he would be able to hear it. I could feel my ears and face going red.
"Oh! Who is this Captain Jo? By chance, is this your gir...."
I widened my eyes with fright.
"What if I get caught?! Lady Noh would not spare me...This was the first task I got since I came here!....." I wondered and closed my eyes tight.
"His Majesty said you should change and enjoy your day. I'll be off then." He overlapped her words boldly, before she proceeded with her sentence. He was still holding me. He just turned his head to answer. After he was done speaking he held me and walked really fast to leave the place. I didn't think Tae Eul got to know who I was. But she smirked at the sight of us going away and went inside the room.🌸
As soon as we were out of her sight, Yeong removed his hand from my shoulder awkwardly. We walked out in silence for a moment.
"I'm sorry, it was....she would have recognized you..."
"No it's fine.......Um...So you must be heading back to the palace....or are you going to catch up with the King?....Since he's out..."
Yeong looked at me to answer. But before he could, I started speaking again.
"That must be it then. I'll see you later in the palace....Bye." My heart was still beating too hard from the trauma of him being with me for so long. I wanted to be with him, but I was way too nervous to even stand next to him. I was not concious of what I was speaking.
"I'm not going anywhere. I've orders from the King, to follow his guest for the day. He doesn't want her to be left alone, untill he comes back."
"You are going to follow her? For the day?"
"So you are, aren't you?"
"A question for a question?" I said raising my eyebrows.
"....Let's walk together while we're at it. We both have to stay out of her sight anyway." He said, making me helplessly smile. Just then, we noticed Tae Eul coming out of the building. She didn't see us. I could see that she had changed into her brown coat, she wore the other day. He also had a grey scarf wrapped around her neck.
"His Majesty asked you to return her normal clothes? That's what the package contained?"
"Yes. She can't be exploring the Kingdom of Corea in the royal guard's uniform."
"Ahhh...."
"Then what did you think it was? A gift?" He asked, looking at me from the corner of his eyes, showing his usual calm.
I tucked in my hair behind my ear and gave a weak laugh in return, thinking he must be trying hard to joke.
