Seung Ah's Perspective

"Seung Ah!" Daeun knocked at the door.
"Are you asleep? Can I come in?"
"Yeah...the door's open." I said and hid the book under the bed hastily.
She came in and jumped onto my bed.
"You parents are coming back from Canada."
    "......my parents?...."
"Yeah, they'll be back in a few days. They just called me and asked me to convey the message. They thought you must be busy and tired today, so."
"Oh okay...." I said listlessly. The book's title was still hovering around my head.
"Hey? You okay?" She said getting up to leave my room.
    "Yeah...."
"Sleep now. I'll get some sleep too." She was about to close the door when she came back in.
"By the way can we be in the same room? Till your parents come? I guess I'll have to move and find an apartment once they get here."
"You can still stay here. You came to Busan for your job. When I'm here, why would you need to stay somewhere else? Continue staying here. Nevertheless, you can stay in this room, with me." I smiled brightly at her.
She came and fell on the bed with a thud.
"Thank you Seung Ah. You're my best friend ever! Sleep now!"
"Yeah..." I looked at her sleeping beside me while I just sat on the bed.
I couldn't go out of the room or take the book out and read it in front of her. I avoided the situation for then and decided to sleep. Thoughts of my perfect day were erased by mysterious thoughts of Yeong's book and the person who dropped it on the CTX platform. I kept staring at the ceiling with all the lights turned off... at some point, my eyes closed unknowingly.

Jo Yeong's Perspective

Main Palace Locker Room.
"Captain, we brought your official car to the palace. Here is your bag."
I nodded in approval and took the bag from Ho Pil. I kept it in my locker and started alloting their positions.
"For tonight, team 2 take your positions in the main palace entrance. Team 1 you'll guard inside the palace. Team 3, you'll take the morning shift with me."
"Yes, Captain!" said the royal guards in unity.
Team 1 and 2 along with Sub Captain Ho Pil, were going out as to do as I had ordered. But when he passed by, I put my hand on his shoulder and stopped him.
"You all work very hard. I appreciate it. Just never got a chance to say..." I smiled, looking at them.
I didn't really understand the expression on his face. He was putting on such a shocked expression as if I couldn't talk about normal things.
"I'll treat you all tomorrow. All of you should come."
"Ye....e.......e...Yes, Captain." They answered in confusion.
"I'm sorry to ask, are you alright Captain? Are you sick?" Ho Pil asked.
"No, just in a good mood. Why?" I ended my sentence abruptly and moved away from them. I went to my locker, opened my bulletproof jacket and changed back into the same clothes.

"Ahh! Ho Pil! Captain has always been nice to us. This his unexpressed love for us...Sorry, I mean rarely expressed."
I smiled unconsciously at this. I was hardly paying attention to what they were saying but when I heard "unexpressed love" it reminded me of Seung Ah. Her smile flashed in front of my open eyes. The way she held the hanger and showed me the black jacket I was currently wearing.
    "...Captain?"
".....Why isn't he responding?" I heard an unclear mumbling among them.
"Captain.....are you smiling? Hey, he's smiling again...." Ho Pil stated, slightly peeping at me from the side of the locker door.
"Our Captain knows to smile!....You look dashing Captain Jo! Please accept my heart!" Jang Mireuk said being coy. He was of jolly nature. In contrast he was also the strongest and sturdiest of all the royal guards. I didn't mind his words. The boys often chatted and had fun among themselves. It was me who mostly didn't take part in their jokes and conversations.
"I have some work in the office. After that I'll head home." I said closing the locker.
"I'll get going then." I said and left whistling on my way.
I could feel them still kept staring at me while I left.
"Hey! Jang Mireuk! Watch what you say! Shut your mouth for once, you...." Ho Pil shouted at him after I left.
Jang Mireuk stood there with his head down.
"Isn't he behaving unusual? I mean I joked with him and he neither scolded me nor asked me to take 50 rounds of the race tracks." He said in a low voice.
"Is that what you want? I'll punish you then." Ho Pil said getting angry at him.
I, who heard the conversation from outside, came back in.
"There's not need for that. Dismiss to your allotted positions at once. See you tomorrow at my treat!" I smiled and left.
"Captain Jo, you're the best!" Jang Mireuk said giving a thumbs up looking at the door through which I had left.
Ho Pil sighed in distress.
