Stopping by Elena's house was the first idea you had when you returned to Mystic Falls.

You knocked on the door and to your suprise Elena opened it.

"Y/N what the hell are you doing here" she spat at you.

"Elena we can't be together" you explain.

"What why ?" Elena asked brokenly.

"We aren't meant to be you'll find someone" you smile sadly.

"Y/N I love you" she cried.

"I do too but I'm poisonous to you" you sigh walking out of her house.

Back to present ...

"Long story" you say stepping into the house.

"You left me you can't just come crawling back" she shouts.

"You were at risk Elena" you tell her.

"That was 8 years ago. Your so selfish Y/N you left me so that you wouldn't see me get hurt. I can handle myself you bitch" she yells.

"I deserved that" you say sitting down.

"Fight back" she growled.

"I thought me being here was going to destroy you but look at what me not being here has done" you sigh.

"Made me forget about you and hate you" she shrugs.

"I thought I could live without you but I can't stop loving you. I tried everything hating you, telling myself it was your fault. I even tried to push you away but look what that got me. I love you I have for the last eight years I just thought that you were happy without me" you yell.

"You still love me" she asked taking your hand.

"Of course I still love you but your happy. You were happy with Damon and Stefan" you respond.

"I will always love you too but we can't be together and I get why you did Evie you did" Elena said pulling your in for one final kiss.

Your lips met for the last time and you pulled away first.

"Thank you for letting me explain Elena" you smile.

She nods and you walk back to your car and flee Mystic Falls with no intention of coming back not even for Elena Gilbert.

She would always be your true love but she wasn't happy with you she was happy with Damon.
