Chaeyoung's POVI sat on my usual place in the algebra class, I was sitting next to an extremely quiet girl who doesn't seem to be bothered about my presence from the day one, so we never say each other a word.
I smiled feeling relaxed and happy as I remember about my next class. The one with Jennie. This week was a quite chaotic one and I didn't have many opportunities to see her, I've seen her only twice and it was a pure bless for my emotional health.
The teacher, which was Ms. Lee, started and we all were now sitting silently, I was engrossed into her explanations and didn't even noticed that the lesson was about to end. I still didn't see Lisa so I decided to have a little chat with Ms. Lee meanwhile.
After biding goodbye to each other we both exited the classroom and I felt a warm backhug and citrus scent which belongs to only one person I know.
I relaxed into the embrace and soon my hand was gently held by Lisa's.
"So? Can somebody feel you right now or it's only me?" I whispered to her and it dawned on me that we didn't think of communication when she is invisible.
She smiled and just walked towards the crowd, nobody stopped before her and people just passed through. She closed her eyes and lift her hands up as if she was trying to catch a warm summer breeze, she opened her eyes and I saw a tiny glint of sadness in them as we were staring at one another. I felt overwhelming déjà vu spiraling within my chest, I breathed heavily which Lisa noticed immediately. She grabbed my arm and pulled towards the lockers and we ended up in a small and rather dark corner.
"....Don't worry it's just me..." I heard Lisa's calming voice as if she was in my mind. Stop. What a hell? I cursed realizing her powers and immediately put my hand on my mouth from embarrassment. You little brat how long have you been here?!
"Don't worry, I read only thoughts you send towards me, for exemple, you thought 'Why does she smell so nicely? Is it some kind of angels' thing?'
Well, and no, it's just a shower gel." Lisa said cockily and I blushed. I tried to escape from her grin and just went towards my next class leaving her behind.
"I'm sorry. I didn't have any right to read your thoughts like that. I promise to not do so without your permission." She stopped me, looking straight into my eyes and I felt relieved seeing her with serious face with glint of guilt, her eyes still vulnerable and I wanted to ask what she feels right now...but I stopped seeing her trying to hide it. I poked her cheek instead which was probably a suspicious act, especially in the crowd.
But small fact about crowds in schools; They don't seem to be bothered about your presence or absence if you're a nerd, and I felt a smile crawling on my lips, 'it will be our little secret', I giggled lightly and her insecurity faltered, she smiled as well.
We happily went to the classroom together, hand in hand.
