Training was a blessing in disguise. It kept our minds off more pressing matters and let our bodies take control. In short, it was a very welcome distraction.

I was currently on the mat. Opposite me my opponent stood. Levi and I circled the area of the mat twice already unsure about how to start. He was almost a whole head taller than me. He definitely had the height advantage.

As soon as our third round around the mat came to an end, our eyes locked and immediately the fight began. He started off with a punch to my jaw which I deftly avoided, ducked and turned ready to deliver a blow only to find him ready to block my punch like he had read my mind.

  I smiled. Finally. Competition.

We sparred for what seemed like ten minutes with neither of us getting the upper hand. Suddenly he took a step back and that little action opened up a shot for me, which I most definitely took. I landed a solid punch right on his solar plexus which I'm quite proud to say, knocked him down.

I turned, excited to have emerged victorious, but it had seemed that I had spoken too soon. There's a famous saying 'Pride goes before a fall' and mine surely did. I hadn't turned around for more than three seconds before he swept his leg out and knocked me down. In my defense, I was distracted by my three second victory.

"Glad to know that I can trust you to have my back in a real situation" he said with a cheeky smile.

"At your service my liege" I replied, heavy sarcasm laced through each and every word.

He offered me his hand which I reluctantly took. I couldn't suppress the blush that rose to colour my cheeks. Thankfully, It was not noticeable . I shushed my mind as I dusted off imaginary dust from my backside.

"Woah Lu. You guys kicked ass. My turn" Noah said as he looked Ajax square in the face. "You ready to get your ass kicked and your name taken?"

Ajax simple strode onto the mat and provoked Noah with a simple smirk. An interesting fight ensued where both of them pinned each other multiple times.

Suddenly the door to the gym opened and in strode two girls and a guy.

One of the two girls was curvy and beautiful with fiery red hair and on a closer look, what looked like gorgeous blue eyes. She was petite and looked sweet and harmless.

The second girl was about my height, pixie cut hair a pure white colour which contrasted in a weirdly nice manner with her olive skin. She had a serious looking face and she definitely looked the part of a top-notch trainee.

Lastly the Boy. He looked tough and scary. He had a broad frame that was easily filled out by huge muscles. His green eyes were constantly on guard. I really did not want to get on his bad side, lest I became another name on the plaque of failed trainees.

The six of us were immediately on guard. It was not often that we got visitors.

"I assume you are from Culridge?" I asked

"Weren't they supposed to arrive tomorrow?"

"Is it tomorrow already?"

"Well, we didn't want to be out of the loop. So we got here a day early. I'm Emma" The curvy girl said with a pretty smile.

" I'm Ryan, I'm socially awkward and I avoid conversations, Pangeans and Raiders in general " The pixie girl said with a slight smile, gracing her serious face.

"I like her. Can we keep this one?" Noah asked as he looked in our general direction. The consensus was clear. We all liked her. Our heads then turned towards the big guy

He took one look at our expectant expressions and grunted out a simple "Dean".

We accepted the short introduction. No-one wanted to be on his bad side.

"Did you meet Enigma?" Levi asked

"Yes we just came from the lab. I can't believe that we're the last collectors." Said Emma.

"Something definitely seems off. Nothing makes sense. I can't seem to put my finger on what's wrong." I added

"Yeah. I doubt Akuno waited for ten centuries to start a war now. There's something we don't know" Levi said, a frown marring his face.

"And I wonder why Nine of us have become the last collectors" Ryan seemingly thought out loud. "I mean, they have never really sent nine collectors out at the same time" she continued.

"Exactly my point-"

Raven was cut off by Master Shiro's appearance in the gym. We quickly fell in line and realized that we were in for a very rigorous training session the moment we assessed his face.

Our realization turned out to be too true because four hours later, all we could do was to haul our arses into bed. As always, I was out like light and so were the others.

We had tried to prolong today as much as we could as we knew tomorrow would seal our fate. The semblance of a life that we called 'normal' would officially come to an end. Tomorrow was a new day which we as a whole, were not looking forward to.

Ahodkdcwicoiwhckckmk!!!!! You've been introduced to most of the characters now. I hope you liked them!!! I have a author prejudice towards them so I can't judge fairly xD.

Fact of the day : I love working out, but I hate working out alone or without music. Does that make sense? Anyone else of the same opinion.

Anyways, Thank you so much for giving Relics a read.
