SundayZorah walks up early rubbing her eyes as she sits up on her fluffy dark grey blanket as she gets up. She only woke up because her father sets an alarm every morning for her always since her sports days. Zorah frowns at the mirror looking at herself. Her curled blue hair turned up at the edges her full lips and her most hated feature her shoulders were kinda broad but that is to be expected since she used to be a track runner and football player. Zorah glares into the mirror at her shoulders. She changes her outfit from a dress into a cardigan into a sweater and then back again. To her eyes her shoulders made her look hideous and she couldn't go outside looking like this. She huffs in anger not even realizing she had scratched one of her shoulders so hard it bled a little. Zorah whimpers and applies alcohol and peroxide to her scratch marks promising herself she would try and not to let her Dysphoria get the best of her. She sighs and decides to take a self-care day. Zorah changes clothes again deciding this will be the last outfit change. She shimmies into a semi-tight black dress. Zorah groans she'd never usually wear stuff like this but even if she has to force herself to feel sexy she will today because she deserves it. Slipping on a pair of red heels and red lipstick. She walks downstairs carefully she still hasn't grasped walking in heels yet. Her Maid Lucinda had only taught her a couple of months ago and Zorah rarely wore them unless it was a day like today. Zorah walks downstairs smiling when she sees the maid Lucinda cleaning.
"Luci please stop cleaning and look...maybe it's just my dysphoria finally leaving me the fuck alone right now but do I look good?"
Lucida looks up almost instantly and a smile spreads across her face.
"oh my god, Zorah you look beautiful?...hmmm pretty? No, no I think the word I'm looking for is stunning."
Zorah smiles she was never insecure about her voice with Luci, she was never insecure about anything with Luci. It's like Luci washed her troubles away and made her feel accepted as a whole. Zorah smiles and grabs an apple off the table.
"Tell my parents I'll be in late and don't wait up for me."
Lucinda smiles and wiggles her eyebrows
"You going to see somebody or something?"
Zorah giggles and shakes her head, grabbing her purse as she walks out of the house with an apple.
Zorah grabs her bike pushing her bike to get a headstart as she jumps on and peddles to victoria's secret smiling as Melanie Martinez's soap blasts into her ears. She chains her bike to the steel pole as she walks in and is greeted by the clerk with a weird look making her stop dead in her tracks and turn around walking right back out sighing as her dysphoria starts to get to her this is why she shops online. She unchains her bike and rides around for a couple of hours before heading toward the corner store. She chains her bike to the rack at the entrance of the alleyway right beside the store she always does this if she didn't people would pop the lock and steal it. Zora walks to the door of the store until she is pushed backward and something is pointed at her. Zora was looking down the barrel of a gun as the tall man stood in front of her. Her heart racing as she tries to think of ways to escape. She hears the jingle of the store door opening and a sweet honey-like voice interrupts the mugging
"Leave her the fuck alone Angelo before I tell yo mama you running around with yo daddy's Glock playing gangsta."
The guy assumed to be Angelo looks down and mumbles a sorry as he runs off Zorah is greeted with a beautiful smiling face. Zorah's heart was still beating quickly as she felt the sweat drip from her forehead.
"Hey you know you could at least talk to me I did just like kinda save you."
Zorah smiles and nods taking in the beauty in front of her. A girl with clear mahogany-colored skin with full plump lips accentuated by a glittery gold lipstick a sharp jawline and eyes the shade of ganache and obsidian hair to match as a pair of circular silver glasses sitting atop her nose. Zorah couldn't help but blush just being in her presence. Zorah felt the same ease as she did with Lucinda so she decided to speak.
"Uh sorry, I'm not good with people....I'm kinda shy I guess."
The goddess of a girl pushes the door open for Zorah to come into the store. "Kinda chilly outside you should come in specially wearing that dress. The beauty's tongue dashes across her bottom lip, all of Zorah's focus on her as she walks inside the store, Zorah smiles as the girl closes the door. Zorah walks to the back of the store looking for her favorite snack as she hears the girl humming and flipping through a magazine. Zorah awkwardly looks around for the pixie sticks not having any luck "uh you know where the pixie sticks are?"
the girl giggles it being the most angelic sound Zora has ever heard. "yeah I keep 'em up 'ere in my desk I love the damn things come up here sweetheart."
The girl smiles at Zorah, Zorah feels something she hasn't felt in a while happiness when she looks back at the girl. She walks to the desk and the girls hand her a handful of pixie sticks smiling.
"So what's a beautiful person like you doing out this late?"
Zorah blushes at the compliment
"Uh just wanted some pixie sticks tried going to victoria's secret not even to shop cause they probably wouldn't have anything to fit my, uh you know... waist size I just wanted to feel like a normal girl you know?"
The girl smiles and nods
"Names Minnie nice to meet you...?"
"Zorah."
"Nice name..unique pretty name for a very pretty girl."
Zorah feels herself blush as she downs her third pixie stick chilling in the seat near the door.
"Do you wanna like to hang out after this we can go to the cinema or back to mine but it's kinda shitty and this guy I live with is an ass."
Zorah frowns
"Guy, you live with? Would he mind me coming over?"
"Daryl's kinda like my brother but uh he's kinda not cool with me having strangers over not saying your gonna do something or anything."
A smile returns to Zorah's face from hearing the guy wasn't her boyfriend.
"We can go back to mine, my dad is the sheriff though and he's pretty much a dickhead narcissist and kinda homophobic."
Minnie smiles and nods
"I don't mind my mom was like that but uh Lemme grab my jacket yeah."
Minnie locks up the store and throws on her red jacket. Zorah smiles awkwardly at Minnie
"You can ride on the back and hold on to me."
Minnie grins
"Your excuse for me to feel you up huh?..relax I'm kidding I don't wanna trigger anything."
Zorah nods and blushes as Minnie's arms wrap around her as she sits on the bike with Zorah. They take to Zorah's house talking on the way there.
"So do you know why your dad's so homophobic?"
Zorah giggles
"Not sure maybe he's secretly gay or something would explain a lot but what about you are you close to your mom still?"
"Nah she kicked me and my sister out cause her boyfriend was a sick fuck but anyway let's talk about something nicer than homophobes."
Minnie laid her head on Zorah's shoulder. Zorah blushes at the act hoping her feet would pedal slower so she could savor the moment
"we're here."
Minnie climbs off the bike as Zorah rides it into the garage. Zorah grabs Minnie's hand and leads her to her room window.
"How do you expect me to climb that when I'm tiny and wearing heels?"
Zorah bites her lip nervously and takes off her heels
"Used to play football just cause I don't work out now doesn't mean I don't still have the upper body strength. My parents are having a weird business dinner that I kinda don't want to walk into so climb on" Zorah bends down to let Minnie step on her shoulders.
Minnie slips off her heels and holds them in hand and she climbs on Zorah's shoulders to shimmy in. Zora hops up and grips onto her window still huffing as she pulls herself through her room window.
