Chapter 1 : Graduation

Kate POV

"Life is all about making mistakes and learning from your mistakes. So throughout life, make as many mistakes as you can because we always learn from them."

"Thanks you Kate." Ms. Kim said. Everyone applauded. I just nodded and walked off the stage.

I am Kate Pearce. I have black hair that reaches an inch above my waist. It's naturally in beach waves. I know most girls would be jealous but whatever. I have green eyes. They are like a gem green. I am 5' 5". I am thin but not stick thin. I have a little muscle. But hardly any. I am 18 as I'm graduating today. I live with my older brother. I was a cheerleader since 9th grade. I started with all of my friends.

My brother is Ryder Pearce. He has black hair. He dark blue eyes. They are a really pretty blue. He is 6' 2". He has a lot of muscle. He works out way more than me. He is 19. He graduated last year. Our parents died in an u fortunate car crash. Fortunately, the driver was caught and was put in jail for murder.

My brother and I live in a small house near the woods. We don't have any neighbors and we like it like that. We know that there are some werewolves around. If you are wondering how we know about werewolves, well it's because we are shifters. We can shift into cats. It means we also are stronger than humans, smell better, run faster, and we have fast metabolism. My brother can shift into a cheetah, leopard, lion, and a cat. His cat is a dark gray with white paws and the tip of his tail is white. I can shift into a cute black kitten with white paws and tip of the tail. I will be able to turn into a snow leopard, a leopard, a tiger, and my cute kitten when I turn 19. That would be in 10 months. I can't wait. I'm so excited!

"Great speech Katy " my best friend, Abby, said. She came rushing up with my other friends. My group of friends were werewolves. They thought Ryder and I were human. We're cats, like my brother and I, smell like humans. I have no idea why though. That's just how it is.

Abby is a blonde. Although most people think blondes are dumb, Abby is one of the smartest people I know. Maybe even smarter than my brother. And he's really smart. She is the same height as me. She lives with her younger brother, Steven, and her mom and dad. Her parents are the sweetest. Abby has beach blond hair. Some people think she dyed her hair but it's all natural. It's naturally curled. It looks like she uses a curling iron every morning. She has sky blue eyes. She has some freckles on her cheeks. She athletic so she has muscles. More than me but less than Ryder. She is dating Mathew. Mathew is actually her mate. I know because of the way that they look at each other. I can't wait for my mate.

Mathew is tall. He is 6' 1". He has dark brown hair with brown eyes. He is the kicker in football. He is good at hacking into things like computers or phones. He has muscles. Even more than Abby. I don't know anyone who has more muscle than Ryder. Mathew is really nice. He is dating Abby. They have been dating for two years already. They are so cute together. Relationship goals right there.

Kayla has brown hair. It's strait. Like super strait. She is 5' 4". She did cheerleading with me. She is flexible. Almost as flexible as me. Everyone knows cats are flexible. Anyways, she has brown eyes with red flecks in it. She is skinny like me but not stick skinny. She was my best friend since kindergarten. I almost at sand and she saved my life. You should never eat sand. It doesn't taste good and it hurts your throat.

"Thanks guys. You did great speeches too." I said. I couldn't wait. We planned to stay together for a whole week in Kayla's cabin in the woods. My brother is going to stay with us with one of his friends. I don't know which friend he's bringing though.

"I can't wait for this evening!" Kayla shouted.

"Me too!" Chorused throughout our group.

Beep! Beep! Beep! A car horn was playing. I turned to see Ryder's sleek silver Mercedes. "Bye guys. I need to go. See you at the cabin this evening. Don't forget to bring a flashlight Kayla." I hugged them goodbye.
