The light coming from my mobile phone is nothing compared to the darkness that lies ahead of me as I ran towards our camp- never looking back at the horrifying lake. Holding a drenched book, curses escaped from my trembling lips and were lost to the whispers of the cold night air, which brushed harshly on my exposed skin.
𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐢𝐭, 𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧. 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐥 𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐜.
A mixture of disturbing voices rang so loud inside my head. The words are repeated again and again in different languages. Despite that, there is only one thing I could understand: I need to take this book away.
"𝗬𝗢𝗨'𝗥𝗘 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗚! 𝗦𝗛𝗨𝗧 𝗨𝗣!"
I screamed more incoherent words when the forest echoed my words back, mocking my bravery or more like 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘱𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘺 for coming here. My feet would sometimes skid whenever I take a quick turn but I always managed to get right back on track. As the sight of my armed siblings getting closer, the almost uniformed stomping of paws on the earth's surface is now louder. 𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙛! I turned my back against a marked tree as quick as possible, my tight grip on the book did not loosen even an inch. Like an instinct, I dug my right foot deep into an excavated spot until I felt a heavy metal above my shoes.

All of a sudden, the most massive wolf I have ever seen came running towards my direction in a fast pace. Together with Ache, Erah and Aren's sound of guns firing, my foot automatically kicked the metal upwards. I turned around to gain momentum and did not let another second to pass as I kick the metal again. This time, I aimed for the Alpha.

𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗠!
A series of whimpers and growls errupted from the pack when the wolfsbane bomb hit the big black wolf. 𝘾𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙝𝙞𝙩. The wolves circled their suffocating and dying Alpha in a protective manner and howled louder. 𝘽𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙪𝙥𝙨.
"𝗜𝘃𝗲𝗿!" Iver took the opportunity and jumped from above without second thoughts. As planned, he landed on another spot gracefully.
"𝗡𝗢𝗪!" He kicked the ground hard enough to activate a chip. The drones that were once strategically hidden around the woods are now protecting our camp. Instantly, they released a gas of wolfsbane that might reach a kilometer.
The angry howls of the pack later on turned into cries. A few minutes later, only the crickets from the forest enveloped us. We did it.
Unfortunately, my knees finally gave in and my burning body collapsed on the hard ground with a 𝘵𝘩𝘶𝘥. My hands clutched the book on my chest despite its condition. The rushing down of adrenaline and lack of oxygen from running caused my insides to burn and spread across my body like a wildfire. I gasp for more air in every breath that I take which blackened my vision. Still, I forced to glance at Iver and Ache who are panting, dripping in sweat, and slumped against one another. My eyes looked around for Erah because she is in charge of opening the portal.
My heart skipped a beat. Laying near the portal are the bodies of Erah and Aren. Erah is drowning in her own blood due to her stomach opened with intestines out. Aren, on the other hand, has his neck bent in an awkward angle. His missing legs did not escape from my eyes.

We have successfully taken 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀, but Erah and Aren have fallen down.
