Louis' POV

Since our rather unplanned and awkward arrival at the village of the Siquolots, we learned that their population consists of only three males and the rest are all girls. One male was their tribal leader, who I think is older than the Buckingham Palace. Two were only kids, one eight year old and one six. This should be the reason why they treated us lads better than the girls.

Kiran is so strict towards them. They work just as the tribe girls do

whilst we sit there like princes being served by women. I admit I liked the service, but to be very honest, I do not like the ruling.

We haven't been speaking to one another as much as we did before. They have been quite distant, perhaps because of the work they have to do, but I am getting a feeling that their being distant has another reason behind it.

Since I only have the lads to talk to, I started opening up, suggesting an escape plan I have thought up myself. We all admitted that we are starting to get used to living as a part of a tribe, but at the same time, we are all smelling something fishy. And no, it's not because we are living on an island surrounded by water, but because there seem to be hidden agendas on the way they are treating us.

Niall confessed that he always feels like he is eating his last meals since they feed us way too much. I believe him, of course. It is hard not to believe when a guy who had a bottomless pit for a stomach says it himself.

The plan.

I came up with the plan as soon as I started feeling suspicious towards the tribe. Because of it, I started secretly spying on our guards as well as the people who we see walking around every single day. I only did it out of curiosity at first, to be honest, but after days of them treating us like some kind of royals, I decided to make an escape plan.

The lads listened to me intently, their interests undeniably captured by the term "escape plan". Thankfully, after I have narrated them the entire scheme, they all agreed to do it with me.

Around noon, they finally called us for noon. Every lunch, the Siquolots gather in front of the chieftain's hut for their meal, which is rationed. Slaves were separated from royals. It is like a caste system they have.

We tried not to be suspicious and followed the flow of people heading to the lunch area, but made sure to walk really slowly to end up being the last in the human traffic.

Pretty soon, we arrived at the slaves' place. All five of them were busy preparing food, guarded by the ever-strict Kiran. We hid behind the bushes, pulling a hungry Niall with us.

"The food smells good. Can we postpone this plan of yours and eat first?" He asked me with a puppy dog look. The smell is indeed enticing. I myself want to have lunch first, but as soon as he saw my point of weakness, Harry slapped my arm.

"Louis, no." He said in a very serious tone. I couldn't argue anymore. It was the concern in his face that stopped me from doing so. Erin looks really exhausted and so do the other girls.

When Kiran moved over to watch another group of girls, I took the chance to call Rae's attention.

"Psst, Rae!" I shout-whispered, the guys looking out for any sign of Kiran, Kelly or Ellis. After a few calls, she finally turned to where I was hiding, looking shocked indeed.

She looked around and made sure nobody is watching her then walked over to me, trying to act all natural. "What are you doing here?"

"Trying to help?" It came out as a question, which I had not intended to do. I couldn't tell her about the plan yet because she might overreact and ruin it. As much as possible, I want this plan to be done smoothly.

"Call the rest." I said. And before she could negate, I added, "Please."

Sighing, she did as she was told and called Erin, Liz, Lea and Angel. The boys and I got out of the bushes. Each grabbed his buddy's hand.

"I hope you've had the moment to catch your breath." I said before starting to run, pulling Rae with me.

***

"Really? This was your brilliant plan?" Rae asked full of sarcasm. Tribe girls were a few meters behind us, chasing us with angry eyes. Okay, I admit it. My plan... wasn't well planned at all. At the moment, everything is uncertain, and I feel ashamed of myself for that.

"Seriously, Tomlinson, I would have chosen to stay there rather than be here running towards uncertainty. Please tell me you know where to go." She held onto my arm tight. I looked at her and saw a different Rae. She looks.. tired. Emotionally tired.

I'm so sorry, Rae. Having nothing else to say, I called out, "Don't talk too much or bugs will enter your mouth."

"Well, look around you! It's not just you whose life is on the edge of a cliff right now!!" She is angry. At me. Because I am fifty shades of f.uckedup. I put everyone's life in danger.

I did as I was told and looked around me. Erin was on Harry's back, holding onto him for dear life, looking very weary. Liz and Angel were in shambles, still trying to figure out what is going on. And Lea, the girl who is supposed to be strong and brave, was yelling curses at Liam, afraid of what will happen next. Poor Liam. That should be me cursed to death by Lea. Because I am stupid.

I felt something sharp pierce my foot badly. Shit. Rae looked at me, concerned, but I brushed off the pain and acted coolly. My foot injured, I couldn't run normally. Instead, I started skipping, which gained me a look of confusion from Rae and the rest.

It was definitely a moment of defeat for me, but I did not stop running no matter what. Soon, we found ourselves standing in front of a two-storey house.

Wait, what? Two storey house?
