| FLASHBACK: WEEK BEFORE THE HANDLER IS SHOT
"i can't do this anymore ! i just can't !" camille complained into the phone, her voice getting higher
" just calm down, sweetie. the mission isn't that hard ! you just have to kill them, just like in training." the handler reassured absently, looking at her nails
"it's NOT 'just like in training' !" she yelled angrily, "this is killing a real live human being. and not even just one, a whole family !"
"camille ! enough with this silliness already !" the handler snapped, her annoyed attitude evident in her tone, "honestly ! it's not like you're killing the kid also, right ? he joined us !"
"does he know that you've ordered to have his siblings killed ?" camille asked bitterly
"that's none of your concern. just do as you were told." the older woman demanded after some silence
"yes mother."
"you know what happens when you can't do a mission don't you ?"
"yes, mother." camille sighed, biting her lip
"then i trust that you'll make the right decision for yourself then. just kill them before they can do anything to stop the end of the world. that's all we're asking of you."
"ok." was all the girl said
"good. now i want a report on my desk at the end of the week on progress that you've made. and camille ?"
"yeah ?"
"i don't want to have this conversation with you again, you hear me ?" the lady stated, her voice cold
"yes, mother." camille replied, vigorously flipping the phone off silently
"good. don't let me down."

camille sighed, looking up at the building sadly. even though her mother was fortunately dead, the commission still didn't see why she shouldn't complete her mission. so here she was, in front of the icarus theater that the hargreeves siblings were all supposed to meet in. she had had loads of other chances to make her move before but didn't.
