Just to be clear guys, this is an AU of sorts mixed with songfic, in which the Narrator has a physical form but isn't really human. And it kind of flashes back and forth between past and present. If you don't like it then please leave or continue but keep rude comments to yourself. ENJOY!

I don't own the music or Stanley Parable, they belong to their rightful owners

Also, Italics is the Narrator, normal is Stanley/ 3rd POV

Stanley worked in an office building that specialized in improving peoples lives for the better, he was happy that he could make a difference in his clients lives. However, when he wasn't on the phone, he was the complete oppisite of what people thought he was. He couldn't speak to other peoples faces. He didn't defend himself when he was told off over some little mistake and people would always force more work on the poor man when he had his own work to deal with.

But that all changed when he met a new office worker who didn't have a name, just a title.

Let me introduce myself

Stanley opened his eyes and once again found himself in his stupid office, the clock not even ticking let alone moving.

He let out a huffed sigh as he closed his eyes and leaned back in his chair, just to reopen them and stare at the ceiling, as if to trying to burn a hole in it just so he could find the man that ruined his life and kill him.

After all, it was the HIS fault that he was trapped here.

You didn't think I was done, did ya?

Well, I just begun having my fun, baby

He was nice at first, if a little creepy, but Stanley assumed that was because the man was like him when it came to socializing with people in front of you, not to mention the fact that the man had unnaturally gold/yellow eyes that rivaled a snake. So he tried to give the new guy the benefit of the doubt.

He always took the time to help Stanley out with work as well, even offering him a cup of coffee when he entered the building. Stanley assumed the man was an early riser and preferred getting into work really early, it wasn't rare but it wasn't common either.

He even defended Stanley when people bullied him when they thought no one was around. And didn't push Stanley to tell him why people did it, he just said that he was willing to listen when Stanley fully trusted him.

Didn't stop that person from being found dead the next day though.

Some people live for attention

Playing the victim

But baby I was born to do the killing

He had passed it off as something normal, after all their office building was near the outskirts of a shady area, people got hurt (or killed) all the time.

Didn't stop the new employers 'optimistic' attitude towards him though. Yes, he seemed 'sad' that the bully was gone, but he didn't seem that phased about it.

So he continued to show the new guy the ropes, and, shockingly enough, he began to grow a back bone when it came to defending him.

The guy treated him to dinner after work was over. He even allowed Stanley to vent about the work at him till the poor man was blue in the face.

Stanley regrets all of the apoligies he said to that man after he finished.

I see how ya going crazy
