This is a request from Lucarioishere

How many times has it been since he started remembering all the resets? 5, 10? He had lost count, especially when he couldn't get a reaction from the one person who made him feel something in this measly existence, Stanley.

Stanley, who would deliberately disobey him just to see other parts of the building, Stanley, who would rather do stuff HIS way rather than listen to the Narrators words, doesn't the man see how much torture it is when he doesn't listen? Doesn't he see how the mans heart would break if he deliberately tried to kill himself? And for what purpose? Just to prove he could control his fate?

Ever since he, the Narrator, started to remember things, he began to do everything in his power to help Stanley show just how much they needed each other, and to get some type of reaction out of the man.

Heck, he even deliberately led Stanley down the confusion ending just so he could try to bond with the guy. More than he cared to admit.

But he always came up empty, no matter how hard he tried Stanley would not react at all, even during the broom closet ending when he claimed Stanley was fat and stupid, was Stanley broken? No that couldn't be right, if he was then Stanley would have listened to his instructions rather than disobey them.

And lets not forget the talking, he knew Stanley could talk as he allowed the man to sleep once he noticed the poor thing about to topple over, he even allowed the man to have a long rest as he didn't want him to fall on his feet again.

He had never slept himself, but he was willing to admit that he didn't know the first thing about human bodies, sure he had one himself but it operated a lot differently than humans.

Anyway he allowed Stanley to sleep on the couch, during his sleep, the Narrator could faintly hear murmuring coming from Stanley's mouth, however he fell out of his chair when he had heard 'please, stop'.

Even after 10 or so more resets he still couldn't believe it, Stanley had never spoken to him before, sure he may have looked upwards and given him the finger (even then it was rare), but he never spoke, and the Narrator wasn't sure if he had ever heard Stanley speak even before he could remember the resets. So what was he to do then?

He even gave Stanley some food when he heard the sound of what could only be described as an earth quake, he saw Stanley give him a happy face and on a computer that said 'thank you' and that was it. Sure he was happy Stanley gave him a smile and a thank you note (at least he had manners) but it wasn't enough.

Right now he was frowning at the image in front of him, Stanley was lying on the couch fast asleep in the employee lounge with lights turned off. He needed something, anything that could make him gain Stanley's trust and make him talk.

But how does one go around doing that?

(Stanley P.O.V)

Stanley groaned as he woke up from a really good sleep, not even bothered over the fact that he was still in the building, he couldn't help but feel that something was off, he had strong sense of deja-vu, some of him dying, some of him ignoring a voice in this very building and that was it.

And that voice, he was certain the voice never allowed him to sleep or eat before, if those things were true then why was the voice acting differently now?

Oh Stanley, your most likely imagining it, really now, invisible voices, food coming out of no where, you might as well say your going insane and save everyone the trouble.

Stanley frowned as a different and cruel voice spoke to him, for once he wished he could hear the other one, at least then it would have felt more comforting.

"Hello? Is anyone here?"

Stanley whipped his head round so fast it was any wonder he didn't get whiplash, he ran to where he heard the voice, which was in the office area, only to skid to a halt when he saw who it was.

It was another human, he had black hair that may or may not have a few grey ones, he wore a very fancy black suit, white shirt with a red tie and shiny black shoes.

He certainly looked like someone who would run the place, but Stanley knew this wasn't his boss.

But what was more weird was when the man looked at Stanley.

"Oh, hello there, what happened to this place? Is anyone else here?"

The mans eyes looked like they were glowing a gold colour, literally, but Stanley was sure he was just over thinking things, might have been a trick of the light.

"Um, hello? Are you okay?" the man looked at Stanley in concern "you kind of spaced out on me"

Stanley blinked owlishly before shaking his head and began looking around for some pen and paper, this person may be new and didn't sound like the Narrator, but he wasn't going to talk straight away until he was sure he could trust him.

He found them quickly and began to write something down, the new man looking at him occasionally as well as the office.

Once done he showed the paper to the man "my name is Stanley, may I ask who you are and how you got here?" it didn't hurt to be polite but Stanley was also desperate for answers. As far as he knew no one could enter this place unless the voice deemed it so.

"My name is Kevin, it's nice to meet you Stanley" he held his hand out and Stanley looked at it with slight hesitation, he knew it was a handshake but he had only done it once and was not used to physical contact, however, he still didn't want to be rude so he held his uneasiness aside and shakily moved his hand out to shake the strangers hand, the man saw how uneasy Stanley looked so he removed his hand after two shakes.

"And to answer your other question I really don't know, I just remember walking into a building, opened the door and found myself here"

That, seemed logical but strange at the same time, but Stanley decided to ignore it for now and began writing again "well I'm afraid your stuck here until the-" he stopped what he was going to write and froze, what would the man say if he told him about the voice?

"Uh, Stanley? Are you okay?" the man looked at him with concern, was Stanley okay? He looked a little pale than he was before.

Stanley wrote again "Nothing, anyway, your going to be stuck here for a while, as far as I know there isn't an exit in this place"

Kevin frowned at the words before he smiled "well maybe I could help? Maybe the two of us might have better look around the place?"

Stanley frowned slightly, but Kevin did have a point, it would be much easier if there were two people covering more ground, but the question was.

Was the Narrator watching all of this? And if not where was he?

It was not like the Narrator to just disappear right of the map, if anything he enjoyed talking, especially about his story, the fact that he hadn't talked for this long was really unsettling Stanley something terrible.

And he doubted Kevin would believe him even if he did tell the truth.

Mentally sighing he nodded his head in agreement before writing again "do you have any suggestions?"

Kevin smiled, and Stanley never saw the flicker in the mans eye.
