Kabanata XIII: Plans

Athyeia's PoV

"Laura!" I exclaimed when I found Laura. Nakilala ko siya based from the looks of her back and her uniform.

"Binibini!!" Gulat na gulat at nanlalaki ang mga mata niyang sabi. She ran towards me. "Sa wakas! Nakita na din kita!!" She mentioned and heaved out a huge load of breath. Para din siyang nawalan ng pasanin.

"Chillax. Kaya ko ang sarili ko." Masaya kong sabi.

"Chillax?" Oh right. Hindi nga pala uso ang slang na iyon sa lugar na ito.

"I mean, calm yourself." Her eyebrows glued together.

O-oh!

"Ano pong kaya niyo ang sarili niyo?!" She shouted. "You might be in danger again! Papaano nalang po kung mahimatay kayo ulit?! Kung manghina po muli k-kayo??"

Ugh. I made her cry.

Laura was already doing hiccups when I tried to console her. Klaseng napagalala ko siya ng sobra. I hugged Laura.

"Shh.... I will never put myself in danger again." I said. "Looking at how many of you guys are worried for me, ayaw ko na uling gumawa ng ikakalungkot niyo."

"R-really..?" Is it mean that I want to laugh at Laura right now? Napakacute niya, para siyang bata.

"Yup."

"Then good!!" Biglang sigla nitong sabi at pinahid ang mga luha. "Ang galing ko talagang umacting." I heard her whispered.

Napasimangot ako.

Was I played?!

Ugh.

"Ngunit totoo po iyon binibini! Please take care of yourself." Sabi niya at hinawakan ang mga kamay ko. So it wasn't all pretense.

"Of course." I answered.

"Ano po 'yan?" She said and zoomed in towards the small lace belt of my dress.

"Alin?" Sabi ko at lumayo-layo sa kaniya upang makita ang kaniyang tinutukoy.

In the belt of my dress, I found a golden locket. May nakaengrave doong picture. It was something familiar but I can't fathom where I saw it.

"Maybe Vs?" I pointed out. Come to think of it, ni-knockdown ko siya kanina?

"V?"

"Ahh, wala. I'll hold on this for awhile. Ibabalik ko nalang sa mayari pag nakita ko." Sabi ko at iniligay iyong locket saaking bulsa.

The lace seemed to be weary and broken. "Say, may royal blacksmith ba?"

"I suppose there is?" Napalingon ako sa nagsalita. It was Doctor Jeremiah.

"Really?" Doctor Jah nodded.

"Doctor Jeremiah." I saw Laura rolled her eyes in the corner of my eye.

"But he only comes every thursday." Tiningnan niya ang hawak kong bagay ng siya ay makalapit. "Iyan ba ang ipapatingin mo?"

"Yup!!" I confirmed. "Klaseng sira na ang chain e. Will you help me and Laura go there?" Sabi ko at pinakita sa kaniya ang bagay.

"As much as I wanted too, I'm pretty busy with things. Naghahanap ako ngayon ng gamot." Oh, so that was why umalis siya sa clinic.

Doctor Jah paused for walking for awhile at hinawakan pa iyong locket.

"From whom do you got this from?" He questioned and looked at me.

"A knight named V." Hindi ko sure pero pakiramdam ko ay pasikreto siyang ngumisi.

What's with people and smirks nowadays? Uso ba iyon sa kanila??

"Interesting." Tumango-tango siya. Now Doctor Jah is smiling. "How did you two met?"

Uhmm... should I say na nawala din ang lalaking iyon sa garden?? Well, honesty is the best policy.

"Naligaw din siya."

"Pfft. Damn." Mahinang mura ni Doctor Jah. Napakunot naman ako ng noo.

"May mali ba?" Nalilito kong tanong. Why is he laughing??

Natatawa ba siya sa katotohanang dalawa kaming naligaw? Weirdo.

"H'wag mong pagtawanan ang Binibini." Mataray na sabi ni Laura. She's being overprotective of me once again.

"I am not!" Pilit akong ngumiti.

I should stop them now. Baka magkasagutan nanaman ang mga ito, my gulay!

"Jah! Tell me, ano iyong sakit na hinahanapan mo ng gamot?" Pagiiba ko ng topic. I am just in my first year as a pharmacy student, baka matulungan ko siya.

"The patient showed symptoms of severe cough and fever. It ain't something that can be treated with just drinking boiled ginger water." Pneumonia??

That's pretty common in our era. "How about you find some lagundi leaves?" Suhestyon ko sa kaniya.

"Lagundi? I'm afraid I don't know how that plant looks like." I should help him.

The first time I saw Marijuana leaves in a picture, akala ko ay Lagundi. Baka may naliligaw ditong halaman ng Marijuana at baka 'yun ang makuha niya.

Now I must clear up my schedule. I should help him tomorrow dahil baka mapaano pa iyong pasyente niya, tapos sa thursday pupunta ako sa blacksmith, tapos sa sabado ko na magagawa iyong cupcakes??

"May rest day ba kayo dito?"

"Yup. Every sunday, most of us are catholics. Kailangang magsimba." Ohhh... what if hindi ko na muling makita pa si V??

But....

Ugh! I shouldn't think about it! God will find a way!

"I'll help you tomorrow then!"
