Liam's pov
"i'll hang out with you, Liam."
Mason's eyes widened, staring behind me. after a second their sentence registered, as did the voice.
turning towards her, I plastered a fake smile on my face. "uh, hi Hayden." her bottom lip was pulled between her teeth, possibly trying to be sexy. all I could think in this moment was how bad I wished it was y/n standing in front of me.
Hayden was attractive, yes, I could admit it. though, Hayden nor any other girl would ever come close to y/n's beauty. her smile was breathtaking, along with the pools of honey in her eyes and the cute button nose that adorned her face. the voice she had was that of an angels and god when moans fell-
a hand took place on my shoulder, shaking me slightly. "Liam," Mason said. "you there bro?" I nodded, even though I wasn't sure if or what either of them said. "I said, i'm going to hang with Corey for a bit." his eyes flickered from Hayden to me. "good luck."
he walked away, looking over his shoulder once more. "Liam," she touched my arm, focusing my attention back to her. "I wasn't sure if you'd be here or not." I let out an awkward laugh, the same one I do when I don't know what to say.
"uh, yeah. Jay invited me, Scott and Stiles. didn't really want to miss it." shrugging, I gave her the fastest explanation and lie that came to mind.
truth is, I didn't want to miss y/n getting all dolled up for a stupid high school party that I couldn't care less about. if I had the opportunity to spare a few glances at her while she let loose, drinking and dancing with her friends then i'd take it. this party didn't matter to me, considering no substances effected me anyways.
Hayden giggled -for whatever reason, I didn't say anything funny- and squeezed my bicep.
was this her lame attempt to flirt with me? I couldn't help but think to myself as she moved to stand in front of me, blocking my view of the living room.
she started saying something again until I drowned her out. the front door opening behind the right side of her head was way more captivating when y/n stepped in, followed by Lydia and Kira.
despite already seeing her outfit, I was still in awe. the jean skirt hugged her hips and all the surrounding areas that I loved to grab, stroke and mark. her shirt was off the shoulder, showing off her neck, collar bones and soft-to-the-touch shoulders. though, I knew that if it were to slip down a centimeter or two more then the dark purple hickeys I gave her just the other day would be on display, right above her chest.
after my eyes finished roaming her body for the second time tonight, I caught her eye. she stared at me with a blank expression, dropping her gaze from me to the hand on my bicep. before I could remove Hayden's hand from my arm, she looked away from us and pushed through the crowd of drunken teens.
i'm not sure if I gave her the wrong idea or if she wasn't as bothered as maybe I wanted her to be.
your pov
I walked into the party confident and excited to take my mind off everything. except all of that faltered when what I really wanted to get my mind off of stood at least twenty feet away with another girl obviously flirting with him.
maybe I shouldn't be upset as I am. i'm the one who clarified that we were not dating when we started this thing and he's given me plenty of chances to call it off. i'm the one who acted like I had no original feelings for him, when in reality I did and they only grew with every second we'd spent together. but it still feels like he's holding my heart in his hands and not being cautious. he's tumbling, tripping and every time he's so close to dropping it. that's my mistake though, I couldn't blame him for not loving me as deep and as truly as I did him.
