The night had not been kind to Hoseok. Agonizingly restless, he lay curled up on the couch. The pain from his wounds had awoken with the darkness. Thumping in his head and piercing stabs down his back chased any chance of sleep away. Unable to focus on containing his ability, it hung heavily in the air around him.

Glimpsing beams of moonlight through the clouds, Hoseok longed to walk under the starlit sky but couldn't risk encountering any mortals. He had no desire to hurt the innocent.

Taehyung was seeming less and less innocent by the second. His younger brother had left the apartment shortly after their conversation yesterday, fully aware that Hoseok could not follow him with his powers out of control, but unaware of the underlying torrents of pain in Hoseok's body.

 Taehyung had yet to return.

During the grey hours of the morning Hoseok had consumed a large quantity of the human medicine but found it barely had any effect on him now. Every movement was torturous. His muscles were stiff from his attempt to remain as still as possible for hours on end. Nothing helped ease the pain.

It puzzled him that something that had worked so well earlier that day was practically useless now. What was different this time? As he mulled that thought over, trying to ignore his own suffering, morning rays of sunshine snuck in. As did a bright-eyed Fallen Angel with a roguish smile.

"Where have you been?" Hoseok growled.

"Out" Taehyung replied.

He noticeably shuddered the further into the room he walked. It was clear the density of Hoseok's power was having an effect on him, though his smile didn't fade.

"Ah, your power feels so invigorating this morning Hoseok" He joked, wincing slightly.

Remaining silent, Hoseok put all his focus into wrenching his power back into himself. The pressure in his head thumping harder with the effort. He couldn't let Taehyung see how much pain he was in. Couldn't afford the vulnerability at this point, but he wasn't going to be able to hold out much longer.

"Please help me, Taehyung" Hoseok begged.

Something in Hoseok's voice made Taehyung focus on him intently. His hands were clasped together, a sheen of sweat coated his skin. He looked pale. Taehyung found himself drawing on Hoseok's power unconsciously.

When Hoseok's grip began to relax Taehyung stopped. He already felt the warmth of Hoseok's power buzzing through his system. Oh, what people would give to have power like this.

"What do I get from doing this?" He asked, unable to stop himself.

He was curious as to what his fellow Fallen was willing to give for this favor. Desperation was clear in his eyes. A desperation that had not been there yesterday. Hoseok glanced away from Taehyung. Knowing he had nothing to give. Nothing his voracious brother would care to have. Scrambling for an answer he said the first thing that came to mind.

"... Anything you want... When we find the one Jin foresaw" He offered.

Tilting his head to the side in faux thought, Taehyung shot a satisfied smile Hoseok's way.

"You always know just what to say" He said.

Hoseok's irritation grew, fed by the phantom slicing sensations sliding down his spine. Aware that time had reshaped his brother's entire being, he kept a tight hold on his abilities. They had sacrificed too much for Hoseok to lose one of his brothers to his own anger.

*Flashback begins*

Warmth embraced the Guardians as they dove through the surface of the Eternal Spring. Spearing through the water with the same speed and power they flew through the skies, they followed in Namjoon's wake. Their incandescent wings propelled them toward the deepest part of the cavern.
